A man was arrested for allegedly setting his girlfriend on fire in North Lauderdale.
The Broward Sheriff’s Office responded to a call at 4:30 a.m on November 2 about a suspicious incident located on the 4300 block of Northwest 54th Street.
When deputies arrived, they located a female who said she was intentionally set on fire by her boyfriend, Noe Jimenez-Cortes, 40, of North Lauderdale.
According to the report, Jimenez-Cortes allegedly poured an accelerant on her body and ignited the fire with a cigarette.
The suspect fled the scene before officers arrived. However, Jimenez-Cortes was later taken into custody by BSO Monday evening.
