City Updates
Recently, our City said goodbye to Chief Michael Annese after over 27 years of faithful and dedicated service to our City, throughout which he exemplified professionalism, integrity, teamwork, and mentorship. We are grateful for his leadership and his unwavering commitment to public safety and to excellence! Please join me in welcoming our new Chief Jonathan Frasher, a longtime member of Tamarac Fire Rescue who most recently served as Deputy Fire Chief, and whose appointment as Chief was effective September 26th. We wish Chief Frasher all the best in his new role, and look forward to working together with him to keep Tamarac safe for years to come!
It’s official! Tamarac’s Sustainability Survey is now LIVE. We’re asking residents what green initiatives YOU want to see in our community, from composting to conservation. The goal is to improve the quality of life for residents and support a more vibrant and resilient Tamarac. Please take our short resident survey to share your thoughts on what sustainability initiatives the City should prioritize. Whether it’s clean energy, climate resilience, green spaces or waste reduction, your feedback will help guide Tamarac’s sustainability strategy and future programs. Take the survey and be part of the change you wish to see in our City! www.Tamarac.me/Blooms
One more community note – I was recently honored to welcome Bluebird Kids Health to Tamarac! After more than 40 years of caring for children and families in Palm Beach County, they have opened their very first Broward County pediatric practice right here in Tamarac, at 7613 NW 57th St. in Midway Plaza, on the northwest corner of Commercial Boulevard and University Drive. Bluebird Kids brings a long-standing commitment to caring for kids of all ages. Their team offers same-day and evening appointments, 24/7 access to their nursing team, school and sports physicals, and more. They also accept all major insurances, including Medicaid, so every family in our community can access care. Please join me in giving Bluebird Kids Health a warm welcome as they begin serving children and families across our City! You can learn more at www.bluebirdkidshealth.com.
Another community event is being planned for some time at the end of this month or early next – the East Side Community Center conversation. Please stay tuned to the City’s social media or reach out to the office to find out more information.
