Residents are invited to get moving and focus on their well-being during a special community event hosted by Michelle J. Gomez in recognition of National Stress Awareness Month.
The “Rhythm & Wellness” event will take place on Saturday, April 18, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Tamarac Recreation Center, located at 7351 N. University Drive.
The free, family-friendly event will feature a variety of fitness activities designed to promote both physical and mental health. The morning will begin with a “10K Step” walk around the field at 9 a.m., encouraging participants to start the day with light cardio and fresh air.
Following the walk, attendees can head indoors for a Zumba session from 9:30 a.m. to 10 a.m., followed by line dancing from 10:15 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Throughout the event, participants will also have opportunities to join in Double Dutch jump rope activities with a 40+ Double Dutch Club and connect with local wellness vendors.
The event is open to the public.
