The gunman who killed a woman and teenage girl in North Lauderdale Wednesday morning has been found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, the Broward Sheriff’s Office announced Monday.
Andre Odaine Anglin, 34, the suspected double killer, shot his ex-wife and daughter in the 7900 block of Tam Oshanter Boulevard shortly after 9 a.m. Wednesday, killing the females in a parking lot in broad daylight, authorities said.
The ensuing search for Anglin led deputies on Monday to a Circle K store at 901 W. Sunrise Blvd. in Fort Lauderdale, where Anglin fatally shot himself in the bathroom as authorities closed in. No one else was injured, according to BSO.
The Broward County Medical Examiner’s Office will officially determine the cause and manner of Anglin’s death.
The alleged killer was tracked to the gas station by homicide detectives and the BSO VIPER unit.
“They located and tracked down a menace to society,” said Broward Sheriff Gregory Tony. “Unfortunately, this coward decided to take his own life rather than face justice for the heinous murders he committed.”
Anglin’s victims were identified as his ex-wife, Jennifer Bellony, and their 15-year-old daughter, Anastasia.
The teenager was wearing her school uniform when she was shot.
BSO has not publicly disclosed a motive for the killings, but Anglin had a history of domestic violence allegations, records show, and his ex-wife filed multiple complaints against him.
