2022 RISE Expo Brings the Business Community Together

By Agrippina Fadel

The sixth annual RISE Business Expo brought Broward County business owners, entrepreneurs, and local government representatives together for a day of networking.

RISE stands for Resilience, Intention, Strength, and Endurance and proved to be an excellent message for the local businesses.

Peter Mason, Executive Director of the Tamarac North Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce, said the event was a great success, with 70 business booths, multiple independent resources, informative breakout sessions, and over 200 attendees.

Held on May 5, the Expo included a networking lunch with two keynote speakers, PuroClean President and CEO Steve White and Sam Blatt, economic development policy manager at Amazon. Mason said a hundred people attended the lunch and described it as “inspiring and educational.”

Mason said Expo was designed to help businesses thrive and connect, adding that Tamarac North Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce loves to “bring people and businesses together,” both informal events and fun get-togethers.

The Expo breakout sessions, attended by 150 people, included discussions on financial literacy, access to funds through the SBA Loan Process and retirement fund, and the procurement process of the cities of Tamarac and North Lauderdale, and Broward County.

“Our not-for-profit organization is extremely happy with the event and grateful to our sponsors: Fifth Third Bank, Signal Restoration/PuroClean, Waste Management, Amtrust, Small Business Development Centers at FAU, Broward Health Coral Springs, and Florida Medical Center,” he said.

Mason added that the organizers were pleased with the resources presented at the Expo, including the cities of North Lauderdale and Tamarac, Broward CollegeSCORESBDCUrban League, and Teleperformance.
