A woman was arrested following a road rage incident in which she allegedly pointed a firearm at another vehicle containing two adults and a child.
According to a Broward County Sheriff’s Office arrest report, Radiyya Ali, 42, of Sunrise, was taken into custody on July 27 and charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill.
The report indicates that deputies responded to the area of Colony Circle and Lagos De Campos Boulevard after receiving reports of a woman threatening to fire a gun during a heated road rage exchange.
According to the arrest affidavit, the victims – two women and a child – were confronted by a silver Nissan Murano, later identified as Ali. The victims told deputies that Ali pointed a handgun directly at them during a verbal altercation, causing them to put their car in reverse to escape frantically, afraid the gun might be fired.
The victims described the driver and provided her license plate to deputies. Later, the vehicle’s license plate was identified as belonging to Ali, and deputies were able to find her home address via her driver’s license.
When deputies visited her home later that night, Ali agreed to speak with them. During questioning, she allegedly spontaneously mentioned “the gun incident from earlier” and admitted to holding a firearm during the confrontation but denied pointing it at anyone.
The report shows that Ali said she felt threatened when someone in the other vehicle called her a derogatory name, prompting her to retrieve the gun. However, she refused to let deputies inspect the weapon or provide its serial number.
Ali was arrested and transported to the Broward County Main Jail. She has since been released after posting a $10,000 bond.
