The Home Furnishings Association announced Tamarac-based CITY Furniture as its 2022 Retailer of the Year in the category of retail stores with more than 50 employees.
In an in-store celebration, Mark Schumacher, Home Furnishings Association CEO, presented the prestigious award to the CITY team, including Andrew Koenig, CEO.
“We are so excited that the CITY team won this prestigious Retailer of the Year Award,” said Koenig, adding, “We’d like to thank the HFA, its members, and all the judges for their consideration and appreciate their vote of confidence in our CITY Family. I’m beyond proud of the work the team does and am so happy to see them honored with this recognition.
Schumacher, of the High Point, NC association, said the Retailer of the Year Awards were “unbelievably” competitive this year as they had more nominees than in recent memory.
“This honor is well-deserved. CITY is recognized as a powerhouse in the home furnishings industry,” said Schumacher. “From the incredible foundation that Keith Koenig created to the innovating approach his son Andrew Koenig is leading, CITY is cementing its legacy as the top in company culture, customer experience, and retail excellence.”
The home furnishings industry nominated its members based on their exceptional examples of philanthropy, technology, customer experience, mentoring, sustainability, and store culture. A panel of judges is comprised of the HFA’s Board of Directors and HFA members.
