Robbery
Feb. 25 – A victim reported an armed robbery at the Extended Stay, located at 3873 W. Commercial Blvd. Estimated loss: $100.
Auto Theft
Feb. 25 – A vehicle was stolen overnight from a residential community in Tamarac.
Mar. 2 – A vehicle theft was reported in Tamarac.
Theft
Feb. 24 – A resident reported an Amazon package stolen from their front porch. Estimated loss: $41.
Feb. 28 – A man reported that his ex-girlfriend attempted to steal his iPad but was unsuccessful.
Mar. 1 – A victim reported the theft of items valued at $265 from their residence.
Retail Theft (Shoplifting)
Feb. 27 – A suspect stole $5 worth of sunglasses from Old Time Pottery. The individual fled before police arrived.
Feb. 27 – A suspect was arrested at Old Time Pottery for felony petit theft (third subsequent offense) and felony violation of probation related to a prior robbery with a firearm.
Feb. 28 – A suspect stole $177 worth of alcohol from Publix Liquor Store on W. Commercial Blvd.
Mar. 1 – Two male suspects stole $1,757 of hair care and cosmetic products from CVS Pharmacy.
Burglary Conveyance (Vehicle Burglary)
Feb. 25 – A burglary was reported in Tamarac with an estimated loss of $60.
Feb. 26 – A second vehicle burglary was reported with an estimated loss of $550.
Criminal Mischief
Feb. 27 – A vehicle was keyed in a residential driveway.
Fraud
Feb. 28 – A fraud case was reported in Tamarac.
Stalking
Feb. 28 – A stalking incident was reported in Tamarac.
Threats/Intimidation
Feb. 26 – A threat assessment was conducted at Tamarac Elementary School.
Feb. 27 – Renaissance Charter reported a threat incident.
Mar. 1 – A victim reported being threatened.
Animal Bite
Feb. 25 – A victim was bitten by a dog and sought treatment at a hospital.
Domestic Disturbances (Non-Criminal)
Several domestic disturbances were reported throughout the week, including verbal disputes and minor altercations.
Baker Act / Marchman Act (Mental Health Holds)
Multiple individuals were placed under the Baker Act, including one person who threatened self-harm and another who exhibited violent behavior near a school.
DUI Arrest
Feb. 28 – A motorist was arrested for DUI at NW 89th Ave/NW 70th St.
Elderly Abuse / Neglect
Mar. 1 – An elderly woman was taken to Woodmont Hospital for self-neglect. DCF was notified.
Arrests
Feb. 25 – Michael Joseph Potente, 39, was arrested for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
Feb. 25 – Jose Luis Luna, 51, was arrested for driving with a suspended license (third offense).
Feb. 27 – Brian Jean, 25, was arrested for first-degree arson.
Feb. 28 – Jennifer Beth Nieman, 55, was arrested for aggravated battery on a person 65 years or older.
Mar. 1 – Cecil Sapp, 21, and another individual were arrested for violating a domestic violence injunction.
Mar. 2 – David Delany, 59, was arrested on a warrant.
Mar. 3 – A 28-year-old male was arrested for trespassing.
