Burglary
Burglary Conveyance was reported on July 22 after a victim discovered jumper cables and medication were taken from their vehicle while visiting a doctor’s office. Estimated loss: $110.
Theft and Fraud
Auto Theft was reported on July 25. A 2019 BMW 750I was stolen from a parking lot after the owner accidentally left the keys inside.
Retail Theft occurred on July 27 at the Family Dollar at 3150 W. Commercial Blvd. A suspect attempted to steal $195 worth of merchandise.
Motor Vehicle Part Thefts were reported on July 23 and 27. License plates were stolen in both incidents. Estimated losses were $50 and $60.
Fraud Incidents included:
A Chase account fraud with a loss of $500.
An identity theft case involving an Afterpay account.
Two credit card frauds totaling $1,957 involving unauthorized purchases.
Fraudulent activity on Space Coast Credit Union accounts totaling $4,000.
A fraudulent insurance claim tied to a Tamarac business, reported by a New Mexico resident. Estimated loss: $4,505.
Assaults and Batteries
Battery was reported multiple times:
July 23 at a pub involving a disturbance.
July 23 and 24 in two domestic-related cases.
July 25 involving a verbal dispute escalating to battery between a father and adopted son.
July 26 when a woman spat on a male business owner.
July 27, a woman struck her husband with a fist.
Aggravated Assault occurred July 25. The suspect was taken into custody.
Robbery
An attempted robbery took place July 22. A suspect used verbal and physical threats to try to take money from a victim. An arrest was made.
Domestic Disturbances (Non-Criminal)
Multiple non-criminal verbal domestic disputes were reported on July 22, 23, 24, 26, and 27 across various Tamarac zones.
Mental Health-Related Incidents
Baker Acts were conducted on multiple individuals throughout the week due to suicidal thoughts, trespassing, and threats. Those individuals were transported for evaluation or assistance.
Other Incidents
Trespassing was reported on July 23 and July 24, with arrests made at Fairfield Inn & Suites and a commercial plaza.
Drug/Narcotics Offense resulted in one arrest on July 26.
Other reports included animal bites, missing persons, lost ID, welfare checks, fire response, and loitering.
