Incidents
Auto Theft – Motorcycle: A motorcycle was reported stolen from an apartment complex parking lot between March 31 and April 1. No suspects have been identified.
Auto Theft: A vehicle was reported stolen in Tamarac; however, investigators were unable to obtain sufficient information to locate it. Estimated loss: $10,000.
Battery: Deputies responded to a fight at Walmart on North Pine Island Road on April 1. Parties were separated, and the incident remains under investigation.
Fraud: A victim reported losing approximately $17,000 in a fraud scheme where money was transported via rideshare to a suspect.
Fraud: A delayed report revealed a stolen IRS check valued at $5,207 that was fraudulently deposited. The victim believes the check was taken from their mailbox.
Theft – Auto Parts: Multiple vehicles were targeted overnight on April 1–2, with wheels stolen and vehicles left on bricks. Estimated losses ranged from $1,600 to $3,000.
Theft – All Other: Sunglasses were reported stolen from a bag at the Tamarac Library. Estimated loss: $300.
Missing Person: An endangered adult missing since February was entered into national databases after last being traced traveling out of state.
Robbery: A domestic dispute escalated into a robbery when a suspect forcibly took an iPhone and luggage from a victim.
Auto Theft: A vehicle stolen overnight on April 3 was later recovered with assistance from another agency.
Death Investigation: Deputies responded to a death investigation on April 3.
Battery: A man was arrested after spitting on a bus driver during an argument over spilled food.
Aggravated Assault: A suspect was arrested after threatening a victim with a knife during a disturbance.
Weapons Violation: A convicted felon was arrested after being found in possession of a firearm during a traffic crash investigation.
Auto Theft: A 2007 Ford van was reported stolen between April 1 and April 5.
Theft – All Other: A wallet and cellphone were reported stolen from a residence. Estimated loss: $270.
Fire: A vehicle fire was reported on April 5. No foul play was suspected.
Death Investigation: A man was found with a self-inflicted gunshot wound and later pronounced deceased at the hospital.
Fraud: A victim reported unauthorized charges to an EBT card.

Several domestic disturbances were reported throughout the week, all verbal in nature with no arrests.
Multiple Baker Act incidents involved individuals experiencing mental health crises.

Alvaro Herrera, 45: Aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
Theresa Brown, 42: Trespassing.
