Incidents

The following is a summary of notable incidents and arrests reported by the Broward Sheriff’s Office in Tamarac between June 16 and June 22, 2026. Not every call for service is included.

Aggravated Battery

A roommate was arrested June 17 after deputies responded to a report of a woman screaming for help. Investigators said the suspect bit off part of the victim’s ear during a physical altercation, causing severe injuries that required hospitalization. The suspect also resisted arrest before being taken into custody.

Attempted Murder Investigation

A man was hospitalized after being stabbed during an incident on June 21. Deputies arrested a suspect at the scene as the investigation continued.

Auto Thefts

Three vehicles were reported stolen during the week from separate locations in Tamarac. In another case, deputies recovered a vehicle reported stolen out of New Jersey and arrested the suspect.

Burglary

A guest at a hotel on Madison Avenue reported documents were stolen from a suitcase inside a room.

An unknown suspect entered an Amazon delivery van on Lime Bay Boulevard and stole two packages before fleeing.

A vehicle burglary was reported June 20.

Another victim reported a wallet containing identification and credit cards was stolen from an unlocked vehicle.

Battery

Several battery investigations were reported during the week, including domestic incidents involving family members and roommates. In one case, deputies said an 18-year-old allegedly threw his mother to the ground, punched her and threatened to kill her before being arrested.

Fraud

A woman reported more than $1,100 was withdrawn from her Chime account through unauthorized ATM withdrawals and purchases.

Another victim reported $810 in fraudulent charges on a TD Bank account.

A vehicle dealership reported a fraudulent vehicle sale resulting in an estimated loss of more than $92,000.

Retail Theft

Shoplifting incidents were reported at:

7-Eleven, 4999 N. State Road 7

Walgreens, 3914 W. Commercial Blvd. (two incidents)

Publix, 4121 W. Commercial Blvd.

Festival Supermarket, 3116 W. Commercial Blvd.

Theft

A woman reported her iPhone 14 was stolen inside Publix on West Commercial Boulevard. Deputies located the suspect at a nearby bus stop, recovered the phone and arrested the individual, who also had two active warrants.

An electric bicycle valued at $1,350 was reported stolen.

IHOP reported a manager admitted keeping nearly $8,900 in bank deposits instead of depositing the money.

A cellphone left inside a DD’s Discounts restroom was reported stolen.

Assault

A driver reported another motorist threatened him during a road-rage incident at North State Road 7 and West Commercial Boulevard by displaying what appeared to be a handgun. No weapon was found, and the victim declined to pursue charges.

Indecent Exposure

A man was arrested June 22 after deputies said he exposed himself in a public place.

Trespassing

A man previously warned not to return to a Commercial Boulevard laundromat was arrested after deputies found him back on the property.

Missing Person

Deputies investigated the disappearance of a 15-year-old habitual runaway. No medical or custody concerns were reported.

Elijah Kirkman Samson, 23, charged with domestic battery.

Nathan William Clermont, 21, charged with grand theft of a motor vehicle.

Vijay Jeremy Thuraisingham, 45, charged with DUI.

Charles Maxie Helton, 61, charged with theft.

Leosthene Leo, 57, charged with aggravated battery causing great bodily harm.

Katrina Noelneith Powers, 41, charged with violating pretrial release conditions.

Louis Anthony Cook, 21, charged with felony retail theft.

Deandre Lavell Ponder, 32, charged with driving with a suspended license.

Jamar Raheem Adams, 25, charged with possession of marijuana under 20 grams.

Simon Garnette Collins, 25, charged with possession of marijuana under 20 grams.

Adler Telfort, 29, charged with domestic battery.

Alexander Antonio Corletto, 31, charged with reckless driving.

Lorenzo Jovan Murdock, 35, charged with trespassing.
