Through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates with the residents, this is a summary of Tamarac crime events through September 4.
Theft – Retail / Shoplifting
A victim of Theft – Retail / Shoplifting on W Commercial Blvd was reported on 08/29/2023. The total estimated loss was $26. The suspect was found taking merchandise from the store and was apprehended by police.
Burglary Residence
A victim of Burglary Residence on NW 48 Terrace was reported on 08/29/2023. The total estimated loss was $12. The victim advised she saw through her doorbell camera a male steal a package from her front doorstep.
A victim of Burglary Residence on Silver Palm Court was reported on 8/30/2023. The total estimated loss was $1,200. The subject entered the property through an unlocked window and removed one washing machine and one dryer.
A victim of Burglary Residence on NW 69 Terrace was reported on 08/30/2023. The total estimated loss was $700. An electric scooter valued at $700.00 was stolen from the residence.
Burglary Conveyance
A victim of Burglary Conveyance on NW 96 Terrace was reported on 08/30/2023. The total estimated loss was $200. Unknown person(s) broke into the victim’s vehicle and stole personal property.
A victim of Burglary Conveyance on N University Drive was reported on 08/30/2023. The total estimated loss was $460. Unknown subject(s) broke the front passenger window of a silver Toyota Highlander and entered through the window, removing a black makeup bag containing $300 cash.
A victim of Burglary Conveyance on NW 57 Street was reported on 09/01/2023. The total estimated loss was $20. A 2023 Red Kia Sorento driver’s side window was smashed, and wallets were stolen.
A victim of Burglary Conveyance was reported on 09/02/2023. Unknown subject(s) burglarized the victim’s 2003 White Mitsubishi Lancer while parked at the dog park by shattering the victim’s driver-side window.
Theft – Retail / Shoplifting
A victim of Theft – Retail / Shoplifting on N University Drive was reported on 08/30/2023. The total estimated loss was $204. An unknown male entered the store and stole a fish tank valued at $204.
Theft
A victim of Theft – Motor Vehicle Parts on W McNab Road was reported on 08/30/2023. The total estimated loss was $100. The victim heard someone cutting his catalytic converter off.
A victim of Theft – Motor Vehicle Parts on NW 61 Street was reported on 08/30/2023. The total estimated loss was $100. The victim advised that he went to start his vehicle and realized his catalytic converter had been stolen.
A victim of Theft – All Other NW 45 Court was reported on 08/30/2023. The total estimated loss was $1720. The complainant advised the company laptops were stolen by an ex-employee who failed to return them.
Fraud -All Other
A victim of Fraud -All Other on Sands Point Blvd was reported on 08/30/2023. The total estimated loss was $5,000.
Information
Information on NW 57 Court was reported on 09/03/2023. A stranger’s dog accosted the reporting person and another on their way to church.
Robbery
A victim of Robbery on W Commercial Blvd was reported on 09/04/2023. The total estimated loss was $1,300. A home invasion robbery occurred.
Arrests
James, Roderick, Arrington, 33, was arrested on a Larceny Other Theft on W Commercial Blvd charge on 08/29/2023.
Lawrence, Avery, Beamon, 29) was arrested on a charge of Larceny Petit Theft 2nd Degree 3rd Subsq Offense on W Commercial Blvd on 8/31/2023.
Vidal, Scott, Eugene, 55, was arrested on a charge of Weapon Offense Missile Into Dwelling Vehicle Building Or Aircraft on NW 17 Terrace on 09/01/2023.
Apruzzese Rodriguez, Marly, Cannela, 50, was arrested on Aggravated Assault -Weapon-W Deadly Weapon Without Intent To Kill on NW 17 Terrace on 09/01/2023.
Dorestil, Bethony Kimson, 31, was arrested on a Battery On Officer Firefighter EMT charge on NW 48 Avenue on 09/04/2023.
