Tamarac Crime Update: Resident Reports $90K Credit Card Fraud

Through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates with the residents, this is a summary of Tamarac crime events through October 9.

Auto Theft

A victim of auto theft was reported at Lagos De Campo Blvd on 10/4/2023. Unknown suspects stole the victim’s 2021 Black Infinity from the parking lot.

Burglary Residence

A victim of Burglary Residence at Commercial Blvd was reported on 10/08/2023 Tot Est Loss: $40. The victim advised the above-listed subject entered her home and stole her phone. She attempted to retrieve her phone from him, and he squeezed her hand hard enough, which caused her to break a nail and release her phone. The phone was later recovered.

Burglary Conveyance

A victim of Burglary Conveyance was reported on NW 62nd St on 10/09/2023. Tot Est Loss: $375. Two overnight vehicle burglaries in the same area. Both vehicles were left unlocked.

A victim of Burglary Conveyance was reported at Mainland Dr on 10/04/2023. An unknown subject burglarized a 2024 red Ford pickup truck while parked at the parking lot near University Dr.

A victim of Burglary Conveyance was reported at University Dr on 10/05/2023. Tot Est Loss: $30,000.

A victim of Burglary Conveyance was reported at NW 69th Ter on 10/07/2023. An unknown suspect attempted to break into the victim’s 2021 Toyota Rav 4 through the driver’s door. However, upon the vehicle’s alarm sounding, the suspect left the driveway and the residence.

A victim of Burglary Conveyance reported at NW Paradise Place was reported on 10/07/2023. Tot.Est.Loss: $500. The victim’s front driver’s side window was smashed, and her wallet was stolen.

A victim of Burglary Conveyance was reported at NW 89th Ave on 10/07/2023. Tot Est Los: $370. An unknown suspect entered the victim’s unlocked car and removed her purse and $240 cash overnight.

A victim of Burglary Conveyance was reported at NW 68th Ter, on 10/07/2023. Tot.Est.Loss: $285. An unknown suspect broke into their 2015 black Lexus RX350 and 2019 black Mercedes E300, respectively. The belongings were later recovered, except her backpack.

Criminal Mischief

A victim of Criminal Mischief was reported at Island Club Dr on 10/03/2023. Unknown suspects vandalized an Orange Dodge Dart. Two passenger tires, front and back, were flat, and the vehicle was keyed on the hood.

Death Investigation

A victim of a Death Investigation was reported at Southampton on 10/04/2023. During a check, a victim was found deceased in her kitchen in an apparent natural death.

Domestic Disturbance

A victim of Domestic Disturbance at N Pine Island Rd was reported on 10/03/2023. The victim was reporting an incident of domestic violence.

Fraud

A victim of fraud was reported at N State Road 7 on 10/03/2023.

The victim reported fraudulent activity on his credit card after receiving a notification that his credit card was locked. A total loss of $90,000 was reported.

A victim of fraud was reported at Weldon Cir on 10/03/2023. Tot. Est.Los: $2,000.

Information

Weldon Cir on 10/03/2023

Forced entry was made inside the residence after the medical alert alarm went off, warning of medical distress. The resident advised it was an accidental activation.

NW 78th St on 10/06/2023. The mother of a one-year-old stated her daughter had ant poison in her mouth; it was unknown if the child consumed the poison. The child was transported to Broward Health Coral Springs.

Theft

A victim of Theft was reported on 10/04/2023. Tot Est Loss: $9,750.

A victim of Theft on University Dr was reported on 10/05/2023. Tot. Est. Loss: $1,300.

The caller said she had a procedure at a doctor’s, and when she woke up from anesthesia, she was missing $1,300. The doctor’s office does not have video in the room she was in, and she said that her purse was placed in a bag before she was put to sleep and then put under her bed. The purse was returned to her after.

Arrests

Jones, Bethany Alice, 47, was Arrested on charges of Violation Of Probation and Battery on a Leo at N University Dr, Tamarac, on 10/03/2023.

Rodriguez, Anthony, 24, was arrested on charges of Grand Theft Of Motor Vehicle at E Sabal Palm Blvd on 10/04/2023.

Banner, Yeshua Jericho, 32, was arrested on charges of Robbery-no Firearm Or Weapon at Commercial Blvd, Tamarac, on 10/05/2023.
