Through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates with the residents, this is a summary of Tamarac crime events through April 24.
Battery
A victim of Battery on N University Drive was reported on 04/18/2023. The victim was working the intake desk in the emergency room when a black female came in and wanted to be admitted due to being schizophrenic and not taking her medication. The woman then physically attacked the nurse.
A victim of Battery on NW 84 Street was reported on 04/18/2023. A battery occurred between two roommates regarding the way their children were playing with each other. The primary aggressor during the incident punched the other in the face.
A victim of Battery on N University Drive was reported on 04/19/2023. The suspect grabbed the victim by the neck, forcing her out of the vehicle. The victim sustained multiple bruises on the right side of her neck.
Theft – All Other
A victim of Theft – All Other on NW 88 Avenue was reported on 04/18/2023. The total estimated loss was $100. The caller wanted to say a stolen tip jar containing less than $100.00.
A victim of Theft – Bicycle NW 76 Court was reported on 04/18/2023. The total estimated loss was $275. An unknown male suspect approached her front porch and stole a mountain bike.
Theft – Retail / Shoplifting
A victim of Theft – Retail / Shoplifting on W McNab Road was reported on 04/20/2023. The total estimated loss was $8,958. An unknown male suspect stole multiple items from the store.
Stalking
A victim of Stalking on NW 74 Avenue was reported on 04/18/2023. The victim wanted to document an attempt from her husband trying to contact her via text message with an active injunction order.
Burglary Conveyance
A victim of Burglary Conveyance on N University Drive was reported on 04/19/2023. The estimated loss was $900—theft from a vehicle via a smashed passenger window.
A victim of Burglary Conveyance on N Pine Island Road was reported on 04/21/2023. The total estimated loss was $2,600. An unknown suspect broke into the victim’s vehicle and stole an Apple MacBook Pro from the back seat.
A victim of Burglary Conveyance on Woodlands Blvd was reported on 04/23/2023. The total estimated loss was $1,001. The victim said she left her vehicle unlocked, and unknown subjects removed items from her car.
Lost Property
Lost Property on NW 73rd Terrace was reported on 04/19/2023. The victim believed her estranged husband took her parents’ social security cards, passports, and Residence Cards.
Auto Theft
A victim of Auto Theft on Sands Point Blvd was reported on 04/20/2023. The victim parked his vehicle in the parking lot and returned the following day to find it missing.
Fraud – Credit Card / Atm
A victim of Fraud – Credit Card / Atm was reported on 04/20/2023. The total estimated loss was $629.
Arrests
Samms, Ashlya, 21, was arrested on a Battery-Touch, Or Strike charge at 84th Street on 04/18/2023.
Murphy, Trevor Anthony, 29, was arrested on a Touch Or Strike/Battery/Dating Violence charge at N University Drive on 04/19/2023.
Forrest, Natasha, 33, was arrested on a Touch Or Strike/Battery/Dating Violence charge at N University Drive on 04/20/2023.
