Wafeeqa Sultana understood struggles as she overcame challenges to become a successful student at Millennium 6-12 Collegiate Academy.
After her situation improved, she decided to help other students facing economic difficulties. In 2022, she created Seed to Success, a nonprofit organization that provides needy students with essential school supplies.
“When I first started, I was able to get school supplies to about 300 kids toward my goal to help people,” said Sultana.
Seed to Success’s mission is to ensure that every child has access to the tools to succeed in school. According to Sultana, she has led school supply drives, raised awareness about educational inequality, and partnered with local organizations to distribute supplies.
Sultana, a senior, has been president of her class for three years, a Broward County BRACE Cadet, a National Honor Society Committee Leader, and a Key Club committee head.
According to Marlene Wright, school counselor at Millenium, she is a member of Mu Alpha Theta, the Health Occupations Students of America, and a Silver Knight nominee.
Wright is impressed with Sultana’s commitment to service and advocacy and her plans to pursue a career in medicine, focusing on cardiology, neurology, or anesthesiology.
