Tamarac Crime Update: Kidnapping and Gun Theft

Through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates to residents, this is a summary of Tamarac crime and arrests through August 30, 2021.

Aggravated Assault

NW 85th Ct.

On Aug. 27, a victim was assaulted by two unknown males driving an older dark SUV, possibly a Honda CRV. One male made racial slurs at the victim and pointed a firearm at him.

Animal Bite

NW 62nd Ct.

On Aug. 25, a dog that belongs to the suspect was let loose and approached the victim and her dog. The suspect’s dog then attacked and bit the victim’s dog, causing injury.

Battery

NW 71st Ave.

A battery was reported on 08/25/2021. Both parties involved were engaged in a verbal dispute over a civil matter. Their verbal dispute turned physical when both parties mutually began to fight each other.

Burglary Conveyance

Buttonwood Cir.

A person was the victim of Burglary Conveyance on 08/24/2021. A Voodoo Tactical fanny pack containing a Sig Sauer handgun and two magazines for the handgun were stolen, along with a gold chain with a cross pendant, from the victim’s unlocked Mazda 3. Tot. Est. Loss: $1,650.

Fire

NW 72nd St.

On Aug. 26, the Tamarac Fire Department responded to a residential fire and conducted an investigation in which the residence was deemed unsafe.

Fraud

Trent Dr.

On Aug. 27, a person was the victim of credit card/ATM fraud. Tot. Est. Loss: $3,000.

Theft

NW 78th Way

A Tamarac resident reported a package delivery of a laptop ordered from Amazon and stolen on 8/19/21. Tot. Est. Loss: $899.

Ashmont Cir.

On Aug. 30, a Tamarac resident reported that her son`s ex-girlfriend, who lived with her for several months, stole her identity and also stole personal items from her. Tot. Est. Loss: $455.

NW 57th St.

On Aug. 25, a North Lauderdale resident claimed he had his debit cards and cash stolen at a gym in Tamarac and subsequently experienced fraud. Tot. Est. Loss: $1,250.

University Dr.

On Aug. 26, the victim’s wife wished to report that her husband`s personal identity cards were stolen from University Hospital. Occurred at the end of July 2021. Tot. Est. Loss: $30.

Arrests

Deetjen, Clevante Tariq, 23, was arrested on charges of Failure To Appear on W Prospect Rd in Fort Lauderdale on 08/26/2021.

Moore, Quavon Jarrell, 36, was arrested on charges of Violation of Probation/Burglary Conv Unoccupied on N University Dr on 08/27/2021.

Conn, Timothy Ray, 38, was arrested on charges of Kidnap-inflict Bodily Harm or Terrorize Vict on Colony Circle North on 08/30/2021.
