Tamarac Crime Update: Thief Steals GPS Ankle Monitor

Through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates to residents, this is a summary of Tamarac crime and arrests through October 18, 2021.

Auto Theft

W. Clairmont Cir.

On 10/17/2021, unknown suspect(s) stole a 2015 silver Lexus IS350 from the parking lot of an apartment complex.

Burglary With Assault 

On 10/17/2021, a victim stated that while picking up her two kids, the suspect got angry because she did not want to talk to him. He grabbed and stole her sunglasses from her face and poked her on her left eye while she was sitting in the driver`s seat of the vehicle. The suspect left the scene. Tot. Est. Loss: $15.

Fraud

NW 54th Ln.

A person was the victim of Fraud – Impersonation on 10/14/2021. The resident wished to report someone used her personal information to apply for state unemployment compensation.

Information

Sanibel Dr.

On 10/12/2021, a woman received alarming text messages and phone calls from a man she had a date with. At this time, there has been no direct threat.

Lost Property

Plum Harbor Cir.

On 10/14/2021, a firearm was reported lost. Reporting person advised he lost his firearm but believed he may have thrown it away by mistake.

Shooting

NW 83rd St.

On 10/14/2021, deputies responded to a report of a shooting. It was confirmed that the victim accidentally shot himself while cleaning his firearm (Taurus G3C, 9mm) and attempting to clear the weapon.

Theft

W. Commercial Blvd.

A store was the victim of theft on 10/12/2021. A male enters the store on a nightly basis and steals cigarettes from behind the counter. After contacting the alleged suspect, he was not arrested for the charge of theft due to the clerk not being able to ID the person. However, he was arrested for an active warrant. Tot. Est. Loss: $32.

W. Commercial Blvd.

On 10/13/2021, the state of Florida was the victim of theft. Caller advised that a suspect stole a GPS ankle monitor. Tot. Est. Loss: $1,000.

Pleasant Hill Ln.

On 10/16/2021, a vehicle was found with all four rims stolen. The vehicle was left resting on top of plastic box crates. Tot. Est. Loss: $1,200.

Arrests

Narcisse Beckford, Gabriel Aristotle, 31, was arrested on charges of Warrant / Operating Vehicle W/o Valid License on Nw 57th Ct on 10/12/2021.

Davis, Barnell Antoine, 46, was arrested on charges of Domestic Battery By Strangulation-dating Relation on N University Dr on 10/12/2021.

Lopez, Geovany Alejandro, 25, was arrested on charges of Trespassing-after Warning-structure Or Conveyance on N University Dr on 10/16/2021.

Christie, Rohanna Jhanelle Theresa, 19, was arrested on charges of Battery-Cause Bodily Harm – Domestic Violence on Nw 70th Ave on 10/16/2021.

Castillo, Jeffrey Ramon, 36, was arrested on Touch Or Strike/battery/domestic Viol charges on Abbey Rd on 10/17/2021.
