Tamarac Crime Update Through April 20

Through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates to residents, this is a summary of crimes that occurred in Tamarac through April 20.

Aggravated Assault

8060 Fairview Dr Versailles Gardens Condominiums
On April 17, a 15-year-old male caller advised that five boys ran after him with a baseball bat to attack him. Victim ran into his friends house for protection. One of the boy broke the apartment window with a baseball bat.

Auto Theft

7770 Nw 78th Ave. Bon Aire
Between April 15 and the 16th, a silver 2016 Honda Civic 4D was stolen.

4900 Block NW 27th Terr. Tamarac Lakes South
Between April 15 and April 20, BSO responded to document an auto theft that was between family members.

Battery

7005 N University Dr. Wells Fargo
On April 17, a female was arrested for battery, resisting w/violence and trespassing after warning.

Burglary Conveyance

9000 Block Chambers St. Hampton Hills.
Between April 21 and April 22 a Suspect(s) entered victims’ vehicles and rummaged through them. A driver license and a credit card was taken from one vehicle. Nothing was taken from the second one. The victim received a message at 3:08 AM that the card had been used.

Between April 22 and April 22, suspect(s) entered victim’s vehicle and rummaged through it. There was no known loss at this time.

Burglary Residence

9800 Block of Malvern Dr. Kings Point
Between April 6 and April 17, contact was made with the residents of the above stated address who claimed unknown subject(s) burglarized their home and only removed Xanax and Percocet.

7166 S Devon Dr. Kings Point
Between April 17 and April 18 burglary to the residence occurred between with unknown suspects.

Criminal Mischief

5600 Block of Nw 59th St. Woodglen Condominiums
On April 16, BSO responded in reference to a criminal mischief where the left rear tire of the victims Honda Civic was slashed.

8799 Southgate Blvd/n Pine Island Rd. Tamarac Town Square Plaza.
On April 17, The victims vehicle was damaged during a physical altercation at the Tamarac Town Square Plaza.

2401 W. Commercial Blvd. Speedway
On April 19, an unknown person vandalized the front glass door and gas pump at the Speedway.

5770 Nw 60th Ave. Woodland Meadows
On April 19, the reporting person advised she wanted to report that when her friend moved out of her apartment, she may have taken some items that belonged to her husband who is currently in jail.

Fire

4427 Treehouse Ln. Arbor Keys
On April 16, Tamarac Fire Rescue 78 forced entry into an apartment, where a burning pot was left unattended on the stove. There were no victims.

Fraud – Credit Card / Atm

3873 W Commercial Blvd. Extended Stay
Between April 18 and April 19,, two hotel rooms were purchased for $361 using a fraudulent credit card. Victim resides in the Central Florida area.

Fraud – False Pretense

6900 Block of Nw 81st Pl. Sunflower
On April 16, a Director for the City of Tamarac responded to a text message of a Direct TV promotion. He sent $750 via Ebay gift cards to a representative acting as Direct TV, and in return, was promised a lower monthly payment and a $250 Visa gift card in exchange. Victim filed complaint with Ebay and Direct TV.

Information

8000 Block of Sanibel Dr.
On April 17, BSO responded to listed residence in reference to a loose dog. Resident reported that a neighbor’s dog jumped on her and ran through her home.

2400 block of Nw 52nd St.
On April 18, BSO met with victim in reference to an unknown subject leaving a threatening note in her mailbox. The investigation revealed the note was intended for a resident who lives nearby that has disputes with people fishing across the lake to the rear of his residence.

7599 Southgate Blvd/n University Dr, Gary B Jones Dog Park
On April 20, Two dog owners got into a verbal argument over a dog. The female owner of a dog stated a male kicked her dog as they were exiting the dog park and got into a verbal argument. The female stated she yelled at the male for kicking her dog, when he threatened to kick her and slammed the gate to the small dog area in her face. The male party stated the females dog was being aggressive toward his dog and was leaving the park, when he picked up the other females dog and handed it to her, so it would not exit the small dog area. 7515 N Pine Island Rd, BSO Tamarac
On April 20, a resident arrived at the BSO Tamarac District Station to surrender his firearm due to an active domestic violence injunction that he is involved in.

9763 Malvern Dr. Kings Point
On April 22, 2,000 rounds of ammunition was removed from the residence for destruction.

9575 Weldon Cir. Kings Point
On April 22, a man found a handgun in his deceased father in-law home. Firearm was entered into evidence for destruction.

Missing Person

6702 N University Dr, University Hospital
On April 17, a mentally ill person missing from Pembroke Pines was located and transported to University Hospital.

Recovered Auto

3816 Nw 49th St. TowMaxx Towing
On April 14, reported April 19, On Sunday, April 14th, 2019, BSO responded to TowMaxx towing in reference to a stolen vehicle that had been towed to their lot.

Robbery

8375 N Pine Island McDonald’s
On April 16, BSO responded to the 8100 block of Nw 74th Ave., in reference to a robbery that occurred three hours prior at 8375 N Pine Island Rd. Victim was punched, thrown to the ground, and his iPhone XR was stolen from his pocket.

3914 W Commercial Blvd. Walgreen’s
On April 21, Walgreen’s was a victim of a robbery.

Robbery By Sudden Snatching

5803 NW 94th Ave. Millennium Collegiate Academy
Between April 16 and April 17, a student was walking to the bus loop when another student reached into her pocket and proceeded to continue walking. The suspect then handed the phone to another student. The other student then proceeded to his bus. The phone has not been located. Robbery detective arrived on scene and interviewed the suspects and victim. Total loss valued at $750.00 dollars.

Theft – Retail / Shoplifting

3150 W Commercial Blvd. Family Dollar
On April 17, the subject entered the store where he concealed merchandise and attempted to leave the store without making payment.

3915 W Commercial Blvd. CVS
On April 18, two unidentified black females entered the store and proceeded to take jewelry items, a bag of Doritos, and a bottle of wine prior to exiting the store without making an attempt to pay.

On April 18, two unidentified black females entered the store and proceeded to conceal cosmetic and hygiene products in their purses before leaving the store without making an attempt to pay.

On April 18, an unidentified black male entered the store, took two packages of 64 count pampers baby diapers off the shelf and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the items.

3915 W Commercial Blvd. CVS
On April 19, Tyjuan Williams positively identified as the subject who exited all points of sale with a bag of merchandise. Williams was released with a Notice to Appear.

On April 20, unknown black male intentionally concealed eight deodorant products and exited the store without rendering payment.

Theft – All Other

6931 N Pine Island Rd. Walmart Neighborhood Market
On April 17, a victim reported that she left her phone in a shopping cart at Walmart.

7138 N University Dr. Woodmont Plaza Shopping Center
On April 17, unknown subject removed the victim’s license plate from his vehicle.

6751 N University Dr. Concord Village
Between April 17 and April 18, unknown suspect took package from front door.

4121 W Commercial Blvd. Publix
On April 19, an unidentified black male pretended to shop while scoping out the victims cart. While the victim was taking items from a freezer, the subject reached in to her cart and stole her wallet and phone.

5755 N University Dr. Ross Dress For Less
On April 19, an unknown subject removed the an 88-year-old victim’s wallet from her purse and used her credit card fraudulently.

Trespassing

8375 N Pine Island Rd. Tamarac Town Square Plaza
On April 18, male was observed loitering in the plaza after being trespass warned. Story and aftermath.

Theft – All Other

7900 NW 82 Street (construction site)
Between April 12 and April 15, an unknown person(s) took a water pump from the construction site after cutting the padlock on the chain securing it in place.

Arrests

Mclean, Donovan, 25, was arrested on charges of larceny/petit theft 2nd Degree 1st offense (M), at 6181 Nw 57th St, Tamarac, on 04/16/2019.

Samuels, My`kayla Jeneil Idalia, 20, was arrested on charges of battery-on an Officer Firefighter Emt at 7005 N University Dr, Tamarac, on 04/17/2019.

Williams, Tyjuan, 26, arrested on charges of larceny petit theft 2nd degree 1st Offense at 3915 W Commercial Blvd, Tamarac, on 04/18/2019.

Williams, Richard, 82, arrest on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon w/o intent to kill at 7670 Westwood Dr, Tamarac, on 04/22/2019
