Through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates to residents, this is a summary of crimes that occurred in Tamarac through September 7. Names of those not arrested have been redacted.
Aggravated Assault
3800 block of West Commercial Boulevard
On September 3, deputies responded to a report of a fight. Upon arrival, a female victim said that three females battered her. A male victim stated that a male tried to cut him with a box cutter style knife. The suspects fled in a maroon car with a spoiler on it.
Animal bite
8000 block of NW 68th Ave
On September 3, the victim’s dog was attacked by two stray dogs.
Auto theft
7000 block of NW 70 Street
On September 5, an unknown subject(s) took the victim’s Honda Accord from his driveway sometime during the overnight hours.
8800 block of South Isles Circle
On September 3, the complainant reported his work van stolen at approximately 2:20 a.m. The vehicle was later recovered at approximately 1:00 p.m.
2700 block of NW 52nd Place
On September 6, the victim advised that his vehicle was stolen from his driveway overnight.
Battery
9200 block of Lime Bay Blvd
On September 3, deputies met with a female and male regarding a domestic disturbance. The female victim advised during a verbal argument, the male grabbed her hair and punched her in the face. The male was arrested for battery and transferred to BSO main jail.
Burglary Residence
6500 block of NW 58 Street
On September 5, an unknown white male subject identified himself as an employee from the water company. Once in the residence, the subject removed cash and jewelry from the kitchen area of the residence and ran out the front door.
7100 bl0ck of Woodmont Ave
On September 5, a mold cleaning business had four machines inside the residence to clean and dehumidify the interior. Over the weekend, between 08/30 and 09/2, the machines were taken by an unknown suspect(s).
Burglary Conveyance
10000 block of South Nob Hill Circle
On September 4, an unknown suspect(s) entered the victim’s unlocked vehicle and stole his wallet containing personal documents.
5000 block of North Travelers Palm Lane – Woodlands Country Club
On September 3, the suspect(s) gained entry to the victim’s vehicle through the unlocked passenger side front door. The suspects were apprehended, charged, and transported to the main jail.
8500 block of NW 80th Street
On September 6, an unknown person(s) entered the victim’s unlocked vehicle and once inside removed her work bag containing personal items.
Criminal Mischief
3803 West Commercial Blvd
On September 3, an unknown person threw a rock at a rear glass door causing the glass to shatter. Entry could not be made into the empty business due to a steel security door.
5000 block of Island Club Drive – Palm Island Club
On September 7, the victim reported his vehicle was spray-painted with black paint.
Information
On September 3, the complainant reported that unknown black male juveniles damaged the driver‘s side door of her Dodge Charger when they discharged a BB gun.
5803 NW 94th Ave – Millennium Collegiate Academy
On September 4, a threat assessment was done on a student.
Property damage
On September 5, the caller woke up to find the rear window on her vehicle broken. The deputy didn’t find any evidence that would make it intentional, such as a rock or brick inside the window. It is possible that a golf ball could have come over the building from the golf course.
Robbery
8299 North Pine Island Road – Leslie’s Pool Supplies
On September 3, suspects threatened and pepper-sprayed the store clerk while stealing multiple pieces of expensive pool equipment from Leslie’s Pool Supplies store.
Theft – all other
4241 West Commercial Blvd- Asia Nails
On September 6, a 15-year-old juvenile attempted to walk out of the business without paying for services. When confronted by staff, she pushed one and hit another.
Theft – retail/ shoplifting
3915 West Commercial Blvd
On September 4, unknown suspects stole Pampers from the CVS Store.
8199 North University Drive
On September 5, deputies were dispatched to a delayed theft investigation at a Walgreens Pharmacy.
8790 West Mcnab Road
On September 5, deputies were dispatched to a delayed theft investigation at a Walgreens Pharmacy.
Threat
6400 North University Drive – Orange Tree
On September 5, the caller advised a known male made threats to shoot him and everyone inside the restaurant.
