For the fifth straight year, the TS Aquatics swim team had at least one swimmer named to the Broward County All First Team.
This season, the team featured three First Team honorees: Tajhari Williams, Brian Hamilton, and Ethan Persten.
Williams specializes in the 50-yard freestyle and 100-yard backstroke. The captain of the Turks and Caicos Islands National Team, he delivered a strong performance at the BCAA Championships, winning both the 50 freestyle and 100 backstroke. At the state meet, Williams recorded personal-best times, placing fifth in the 100 backstroke (51.03) and seventh in the 50 freestyle (21.22).
Hamilton competes in the 50- and 100-yard freestyle events and serves as a team captain. He helped lead the Panthers to an eighth-place finish at the Class 2A state championship, the best finish in school history. Hamilton placed fifth in the 50 freestyle at the state meet with a time of 21.33 and was runner-up at the BCAA Championships, posting a personal best of 21.28 to earn a Futures cut. He holds school records in both the 50- and 100-yard freestyles.
Persten swims the 100- and 200-yard freestyle events and became the first swimmer in school history to win two individual events at the BCAA meet, capturing first place in both races. At the state meet, he advanced to the B finals in the 100 freestyle and competed on the 400 freestyle relay. Persten set personal-best times at the regional meet, clocking a 46.75 in the 100 freestyle and a 1:43.42 in the 200 freestyle to qualify for states.
The team also had two swimmers earn Honorable Mention recognition. Sophia El Chantiry placed second in the 100-yard butterfly at regionals with a time of 58.21 and finished fourth in the 50-yard freestyle at 24.75. Abigail Pierre placed fourth in both the 50- and 100-yard butterfly at Districts before finishing fifth in the 50-yard butterfly at regionals with a time of 24.87.
