UniVista celebrated its grand opening with a ribbon-cutting and social event on July 11.
The Tamarac North Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce and community leaders welcomed the new insurance company, which offers personal auto, commercial, truck, boat, renters, and general liability insurance, as well as notary services.
“This is a great new business for Tamarac, and we wish them success,” said Rachel Schmidt, chair of the chamber board.
A franchisee of Miami-based UniVista, Barbara Peraza Rodriguez is looking forward to serving Tamarac. “I want to help others, and I have worked in insurance in Atlanta and South Florida. I love Tamarac and the people here are friendly,” she said.
Rodriguez will be working with her son, Louis Hernandez, and daughter, Sabrina Hernandez, to develop the business. “My goal is to offer good service to the community,” she said.

UniVista is located at 4810 West Commercial Boulevard. Hours are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday.
