Video Voyeur Surrenders to North Lauderdale Detectives

By Kevin Deutsch

A man caught on camera placing a phone underneath a woman’s dress while she shopped in a North Lauderdale Walmart has been arrested, authorities said.

Ciano Brown, 30, turned himself in Sunday night, according to the Broward Sheriff’s Office. He was taken into custody shortly before 11:30 p.m. and charged with one count of video voyeurism, the sheriff’s office said.

The female victim was dressed in a floral dress on Sept. 9 while browsing through the cosmetic aisle of a Walmart at 7900 W. McNab Rd., investigators said.

A man identified by BSO as Brown wore a teal baseball cap and dark-colored clothes as he walked over to the victim, bent down, and extended his arm under the woman’s dress around 6:47 p.m., investigators said.

In Brown’s hand was a cellphone, which detectives believe he used to videotape or take pictures of the victim’s undergarments without her knowledge, according to BSO.

Brown was arrested for alleged voyeurism last year in Miami-Dade County, investigators said.

He was being held on a $2,000 bond Monday at the Broward County Main Jail.
