A woman has been arrested on charges of assault with a deadly weapon after allegedly stabbing a man multiple times.
On the evening of September 29, Broward County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a reported stabbing incident at a residence located near the 5800 block of Northwest 64th Avenue.
The report shows that the caller indicated that a stabbing was actively in progress. When deputies arrived on the scene, records show they where encountered a highly agitated female suspect, later identified as Karman Moore, 42, of Tamarac.
Shortly after, the victim emerged from inside the home with what appeared to be multiple lacerations on his body, primarily on his upper torso and shoulders. The victim told BSO deputies that he had been stabbed and slashed numerous times by Moore, who was subsequently placed in custody while an investigation took place.
According to statements provided by the victim, the confrontation began as a verbal argument in the living room over the victim’s desire to go to sleep. When the victim left the room and went to lie down in the bedroom, Moore allegedly armed herself with a brown kitchen knife, entered the bedroom, and began attacking the victim, resulting in several lacerations to his upper body.
The BSO report shows that the victim managed to push Moore away and forced her out of the bedroom, after which he called 911 for assistance.
While on the scene, deputies discovered a brown kitchen knife in the main bedroom. The knife, which appeared to have bloodstains on the edges, was collected as evidence and submitted to the lab for DNA processing.
Following her arrest, Moore claimed she had been hit first by the victim but did not mention the use of a knife. She later admitted to holding the knife in her hand because she had been cutting a banana after the altercation.
Moore was arrested and transported to the Broward County Main Jail.
