Vice Mayor and District 2 Commissioner Morey Wright is bringing the government closer to the people by launching a new outreach program, Commissioner on Your Corner.
The initiative aims to create a more accessible and responsive local government by fostering direct communication and collaboration between residents and their local representatives.
The program, which kicked off on November 9 at Plum Bay, will see Commissioner Wright visiting six District 2 communities each month to engage with residents in a casual setting.
Residents are invited to share their concerns, ask questions, and offer suggestions for neighborhood improvements.
The next event will be held on Saturday, December 7, at Woodlands Boulevard between White Hickory Circle and Bayberry Lane.
Wright told Tamarac Talk that he wanted an area with high traffic visibility so residents could walk or ride their bikes up. He will have a tent where BSO Captain Jemeriah Cooper and Code Compliance Manager Stephanie Bass will be on hand to answer questions.
Residents of Woodlands Sections 1–8 are encouraged to attend. Representatives from the Broward Sheriff’s Office and the Code Enforcement team will also be present to address community concerns.
The program will continue at the Lime Bay Clubhouse on Saturday, January 11. Additional sessions are planned for Fairhaven, Greenhaven, Mainlands 8-9, and Hampton Hills, with future dates to be announced.
