According to The National Alliance to End Homelessness, over 30,000 people are homeless in Florida on any given night. Tamarac streets are no exception, even after the city banned panhandling at busy intersections in 2015.
The newly created city of Tamarac’s Homeless Task Force offers residents a chance to become a part of the solution.
Comprised of six to eight members, the Task Force will help reduce homelessness in Tamarac by facilitating, strengthening, and coordinating efforts between the City and Broward County Homeless Continuum of Care.
Faith-based advocates, mental health, substance abuse, and life skills professionals are invited to apply. Members of the Task Force serve without compensation.
