The City of Tamarac will pay for minor home repairs for eligible residents, including impact windows and doors and roof replacement.
Enrollment for the city’s Minor Home Repair Program is now open, and homeowners must meet and verify income requirements to qualify.
The program, designed to help residents in need to repair their homes, can also cover the correction of health and safety hazards in the home and the weatherization of the building.
The maximum assistance is up to $60K, and the award is subject to the city staff review.
Applicants are funded on a first-ready, first-served basis, and assistance is provided as a 15-year, 0% interest, deferred payment second mortgage. Homeowners will not be required to make any payments on the loan if they remain in the property for 15 years.
