Eligible Tamarac residents can attend Broward College courses and workshops and receive workforce training for free.
Through the collaboration between Tamarac’s economic development program and Broward College’s Broward Up program, the residents can take advantage of educational opportunities to enhance skills needed to advance their careers and thrive in the workplace.
Courses include Medical Billing and Coding, ECG Tech, Pharmacy Technician, OSHA Standards in Construction, Marketing, Supply Chain Logistics, Video Design, and Project Management.
The free tuition courses are available to residents residing in specific zip codes, and Tamarac includes a portion of two of them (33309 and 33319). Students must be 18 years of age or older for most Broward UP courses.
For Health Care courses, applicants must also have completed a high school diploma or GED. Residents without a high school diploma or GED can get assistance through the college’s Adult Education program.
Broward Up has a team of case managers serving as success coaches for program participants. Tamarac residents should select Sherman Gant, Broward College Case Manager. Learn more and register here
