Detectives with the Broward Sheriff’s Office North Lauderdale District are requesting assistance from the public to identify and locate a man caught on camera breaking into a vehicle and stealing a handgun.
The incident occurred at approximately 3:47 a.m. on Sunday, December 8, 2024, near the 7800 block of Southwest Seventh Street. According to investigators, video footage captured a male suspect tampering with the door handle of a 2021 Jeep Cherokee.
The individual, believed to be around 30 years old, was wearing a black hair cap, a blue long-sleeve T-shirt, black pants, dark-colored shoes, and a white glove on his right hand.
The footage shows the suspect opening the Jeep’s trunk before moving to the vehicle’s passenger side, where he rummaged through its contents. Detectives believe the suspect located and stole a handgun during this time.
