Tamarac’s Millennium 6-12 Collegiate Academy was one of seven Broward County schools to graduate 100 percent of its students last year, the school district said Friday.
The perfect graduation rate was the latest mark of excellence for the school at 5803 Northwest 94th Ave. Millennium was ranked the number one public high school in both Broward and Miami-Dade Counties by U.S. News & World Report, which released its rankings in May.
The magazine ranked Millennium second among all Florida high schools and forty-first nationally.
According to data made public by the Florida Department of Education for the 2023-2024 school year Friday, 34 of Broward’s 36 traditional high schools graduated 90 percent or more of their students last year.
Twenty-four of those Broward schools notched a graduation rate of 95 percent or higher – two more schools than reached that mark in 2023, the data shows.
The overall graduation rate for the county’s traditional high schools rose to 89 percent in 2024, up from 88.7 percent in 2023.
The other Broward high schools to report 100 percent graduation rates are Atlantic Technical High School, Broward Virtual School, College Academy at Broward College, Lauderhill 6-12, McFatter Technical College, Millennium 6-12 Collegiate Academy, and Pompano Beach High School and College Academy at Broward College.
“Ensuring our students complete their high school education with the knowledge, tools, and academic foundation to be successful in their post-secondary pursuits is critical,” BCPS Superintendent Dr. Howard Hepburn said in a written statement Friday. “Our School Board members and I are proud of our schools – our teachers, administrators and staff – for maintaining their focus on our students’ needs and helping our schools continue to raise graduation rates. The notable increases at many of our high schools are to be commended and celebrated.”
Broward is the sixth-largest public school district in the nation and the second-largest in Florida, with more than 247,000 enrolled students.
