Join the Light Up Tamarac Menorah Parade to celebrate the second night of Chanukah with friends and family.
Held on Thursday, December 26, the car parade will line up at the starting point in front of the Chabad Jewish Center of Tamarac at 5:30 p.m., and the procession will start at 5:50 p.m., concluding at Publix at 8425 NW 88th Ave. by 6:15 p.m.
Once the parade arrives, the celebration will continue at Publix with public menorah lighting, kosher food tasting, and holiday music and raffles.
“Residents love this event and are always asking about it,” said Rabbi Kopel Silberberg. “Usually, we have a whole parade of people with large menorahs and Chanukah flags on their cars; it is a beautiful event symbolizing the unity of the community.”
He added that the event supports the main idea of the Chanukah celebration, a message of hope and celebration of the victory of light over darkness.
“There has been so much darkness in the world recently; it is up to us to add the light,” Rabbi Silberberg said.
Registration for the Menorah Parade is recommended, and the suggested donation is $36 per car, with other sponsorship opportunities available.
Chabad Jewish Center of Tamarac is located at 8100 N University Dr.
