The Chabad Jewish Center of Tamarac will host its annual Purim celebration on Tuesday, March 5, at 5:30 p.m. at Woodmont Country Club, inviting the entire community to take part in an evening themed “Purim in Paris.”
Chabad Tamarac Rabbi Kopel Silberberg and his wife, co-director Goldy Silberberg, say guests will be whisked away to the charm and elegance of Paris for the festive event, which will open with a Megillah reading and slideshow presentation. A French-inspired Purim feast will follow, along with a French wine and l’chaim bar, music and dancing, a Parisian mime, a caricature artist, and interactive entertainment for all ages. Children will have dedicated crafts and activities, making the celebration family-friendly.
Rabbi Silberberg said Purim is one of the highlights of the year for Chabad and the Tamarac Jewish community.
“Every year we choose a different theme and really transform the space — from the décor to the food to the entertainment. Purim in Paris is going to be elegant, lively, and full of spirit,” he said.
Goldy Silberberg emphasized that beyond the festivities, Purim carries a deeper message.
“Purim is about looking beneath the mask,” she said. “We dress up and celebrate, but the deeper lesson is learning to see the hidden blessings in our lives and the goodness inside every person. When a community comes together in joy, it strengthens that sense of connection and purpose.”
Admission is $36 per adult and $18 per child. Sponsorship opportunities are available for those who would like to support the event, and an RSVP is required.
The celebration will take place at Woodmont Country Club, located at 7801 NW 80th Ave. Everyone is welcome, regardless of affiliation.
“Whether you’re two years old or 102, you’ll leave with a smile,” Rabbi Silberberg said.
