There were 223,816 COVID-19 tests conducted in the State of Florida on February 4, and out of those, 15,827 came back positive. Of the positive test results, 10,946 were that of Floridians, finding out they had tested positive for the first time.

Testing data for February 4 shows a massive increase in Floridians that were tested for COVID-19. By comparison, over 140,000 fewer people were tested for COVID-19 on January 31. February 4 marked just the fifth time in the last two weeks that Florida has reported more than 10,000 new COVID-19 cases.

While testing saw a large increase yesterday, the positivity rate plummeted to just 7.07-percent. Only 5.80-percent of Floridians tested on February 4 were finding out for the first time that they had tested positive for COVID-19.

There were 4,670 positive COVID-19 cases in Tamarac, an increase of 7 positive cases since February 3. In the last 48 hours, the seven new cases are the least cases Tamarac has seen in that timeframe in months.

Statewide in Florida, there have been 1,763,873 positive COVID-19 cases to date. The average age to contract COVID-19 in Broward County on February 4 was 39-years-old. For months, the average Floridian to test positive for COVID-19 has hovered between 39 and 40-years-old.

Since the pandemic began, 27,457 Floridians have died from COVID-19, with 73,970 patients hospitalized.
