Through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates to residents, this is a summary of crimes in Tamarac through September 8.
Aggravated Battery
5300 block of Gate Lake Rd
On September 4, a report was generated about an aggravated battery (domestic), which resulted in serious bodily injuries.
7700 block of NW 78th Ave – Midora at Woodmont
On September 6, the primary aggressor struck the victim with a vehicle in the parking lot. The primary aggressor’s boyfriend and the victim got into a physical altercation inside apartment. One victim was transported to UMC. All parties declined to prosecute, and waiver’s signed.
Assault
3873 W Commercial Blvd – Extended Stay America
On September 3, the manager reported a guest in a room verbally threaten her to harm her.
Auto Theft
7900 block of NW 60th St
On September 1, a 2001 Toyota Camry was taken overnight without permission from a family member. The vehicle was taken with the keys about 7 days ago. An Auto Theft Affidavit was completed, a sworn statement was obtained, and Records Teletype entered the vehicle into FCIC/NCIC.
Battery
5100 W Commercial Blvd
On September 1, a report of a battery as a result of a road rage incident.
5213 N State Road 7 – Trapeze
On September 7, deputy’s were flagged down by witness advising to people were fighting.
Burglary Conveyance
5600 block of NW 58th Ln – The Osprey
On September 2, Three victims in the same neighborhood reported a delayed burglary conveyance to their unlocked vehicles. A wallet, tablet, old disconnected Samsung Galaxy S7 cell phone, and a cellphone case were taken from inside the vehicles. The vehicle was processed for latent prints. Video surveillance was obtained.
5600 block of NW 49th Ter – Mainlands of Tamarac Section 7
On September 3, BSO met with the caller about an unknown suspect who used a landscape paver or rock to break to smash the front passenger side door. The scene was processed.
Criminal Mischief
7300 block of NW 75th St
On September 1, two vehicle’s windows were smashed. Two separate owners. No suspects or prior incidents. BSO is working on obtaining a video.
Shaker Village Condo Association/ The Commons
On September 2, large graffiti found on outside of the clubhouse building, saying “WOKE.”
4500 block of NW 16th Way – Tamarac Lakes South
On September 3, the rear window of the listed vehicle was damaged because unknown person(s) threw a landscaping brick through it. No property was reported stolen. No latent prints were collected. No surveillance was collected.
Domestic Disturbance
5800 block of NW 46th Ter
On September 4, a report was generated about a domestic disturbance (non-crime) where the residence owner wanted her ex-boyfriend to leave the property.
9400 block of NW 82nd St
On September 7, the resident and stepfather disagreed. The family has had issues in the past due to the resident’s mental health issues.
6500 block of NW 94th Ter
On September 5, the reporting person advised her live-in boyfriend punched her multiple times and broke her phones. The reporting person appeared intoxicated and kept changing her story. No visible sign of injury.
Found Property
4121 W Commercial Blvd – Publix
On September 4, a Publix employee found a small black purse with $200 located inside.
Information
9500 block of NW 65th St
On September 1, the caller wants a report about a vehicle she sold back in January of 2020 for $1,000 or $1,500, which is still registered to her name, and believes she was given a worthless check.
8100 block of NW 92nd Ave – Westwood 5
On September 1, the Elder Link form was completed for a vulnerable adult. The abuse hotline notified and accepted the report. The social worker is involved.
8300 block of Sands Point Blvd
On September 3, an unknown caller called the complainant from a blocked number and said that he would kill her if she sends another email to her landlord.
7400 block of Trent Dr
On September 3, a report was generated about a welfare check on an elderly female. BSO attempted to make contact with her at her residence, and she was not home. Her daughter later notified them that she was at the doctor’s office.
9486 S Belfort Cir
On September 4, the reporting person advised someone has fraudulently hacked his banking accounts and sent money to another account.
8200 block of Prestige Commons Dr
On September 4, the reporting person advised she obtained a restraining order against her ex-fiancé after getting arrested in front of her residence. The reporting person stated the subject was served with the restraining order while he was in custody at the Broward County main jail.
7200 block of NW 80th Ave – Woodmont Natural Area
On September 6, contact with a suspicious vehicle. Approximately 10.5 grams of unknown green leafy substance and drug paraphernalia entered for destruction.
Missing Person
7425 N University Dr – University Medical Center Pavilion
On September 1, the patient inside the Baker Act unit has been missing from Oakland Park. Baker Acted under the name John Doe, ID by a fingerprint scanner. Notifications made. The patient was removed as a missing person from NCIC/FCIC. Remained in the custody of UMC.
8301 W McNab Rd – Destination Hope
On September 3, a male went missing from Destination Hope. The subject left on foot and does not have a cellphone. The subject was entered into BSO teletype.
Recovered Auto
8800 NW 61st St
On September 1, two males fled the vehicle after crashing into a tree. The vehicle was confirmed as out of Boca Raton. No subjects in custody at this time.
Suspicious incident
5600 block of NW 49th Ter
On September 4, a report was generated about a suspicious incident of an unidentified male observed on home video surveillance walking away from the owner’s parked vehicle in her driveway.
Theft Retail Shoplifting
3915 W Commercial Blvd – CVS
On September 1, unknown adult male and unknown adult female suspects stole multiple items and fled on foot. The incident was captured on the store surveillance video
3914 W Commercial Blvd – Walgreens
On September 1, the Store manager reported one unknown male stole merchandise from the store. He stated the suspect entered the store and stole six-packs of 12 beers.
3915 W Commercial Blvd – CVS
On September 2, a male subject entered the store and put laundry detergent in a handbag and left without paying. Subject left on a bicycle.
Theft Motor Vehicle Parts
4400 block of Treehouse Ln
On September 3, a Florida license plate was stolen off the victim’s gray 2012 Honda Civic.
Violation of Parole
5801 NW 57th Ct – The Osprey
On September 1, a violent felony offender was observed operating a motor vehicle while license was revoked. Criminal offense violated his terms of felony probation.
Arrest
Young, Deandre Kenyon (B M, 29) was arrested on charges of Probation Violation – Felony at 5801 Nw 57th Ct, Tamarac, on 09/01/2020.
Mayer, Christopher (W M, 37) was arrested on charges of Felony Battery -domestic Viol at 5384 Gate Lake Rd, Tamarac, on 09/04/2020.
Cabral, Leonard John (W M, 47) was arrested on Viol Injunction Protection Domestic Violence charges at 8214 Prestige Commons Dr, Tamarac, on 09/06/2020.
Alford, Grayson Joseph (W M, 21) was arrested on Unauth Poss Of Id charges at 5881 N University Dr, Tamarac, on 09/07/2020.
