2025 Student Sustainability Seminar Breakfast. {TNLCOC}
Students across Broward County are invited to attend the Student Sustainability Seminar, a free educational event scheduled for Saturday, March 28, from 9 a.m. to noon at the Tamarac Community Center, 8601 W. Commercial Blvd.
Designed by students for students ages 14–18, the seminar will focus on sustainability, community engagement, and future opportunities in the green economy.
The event will feature interactive presentations, educational vendors, quizzes, raffles, and giveaways to help students explore sustainability careers and understand how environmental initiatives impact their communities. Attendees will also have the opportunity to connect with peers who share an interest in building a more sustainable future.
Students who participate will receive four community service hours. Volunteer forms will be signed at noon; students are asked to bring theirs.
Participants will also receive complimentary breakfast and lunch, along with a free movie ticket and coupons from Huey Magoo’s and Goodwill Tamarac. Breakfast will be served from 8:45 a.m. to 9:10 a.m., and lunch will be provided at 11:45 a.m.
This event is sponsored by the Tamarac North Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce, Waste Management, and the City of Tamarac.
Students are encouraged to embrace the spirit of sustainability by adhering to the event’s dress code and wearing thrifted clothing, such as hand-me-downs or unique thrift-store finds.
Students must register in advance so organizers can prepare seating and meals.
