
J.P. Taravella Boys Soccer. {JPT Athletics}

J.P. Taravella had another busy week with the cross country team running in Regionals and the soccer team starting the season.
Akeen Beckford led the way for the boys cross country team with a time of 18.12. Elijah Vessels finished second, followed by Anthony Duncan, Scardy Fils, and Craig Dennis in the top 75. Dominic Martinez and Ali Mustfa also raced while Qyrah Spann-Pierre led the girls. She finished at 22:11.83, with Raquel Arne also running.Â
The boys soccer team began their season with a 5-0 loss against Cypress Bay High School on Wednesday. The Trojans are coming off a five-win season and have a team consisting of Anthony De Gouvela, Tyler Brown, Aiden Ersoy, Nicolas Cavirla, Adrian Astudillo, Jorge Abadia, Devaughn Rose, Angelo Castillo, Ray Graham, Ian Gonzalez, Denardo Thompson, Andres Londono, Eliah Butler, Kevin Quintero, Luis Lainez, Amr Ibrahim, Carlo Woods, Sebastian Gonzalez, Versel Spencer, Amari Maitland, Pablo P Loaiza, Marco Ferreira, Sebastian Ordonez, Jemar Wright, Yovani Arteta and Damane Ludford.Â
The girls soccer team lost 8-0 against Cypress Bay School after going 11-4-1 last season. Their team consists of Gianni Gulino, Natalie Santile, Natalia Casseus, Madison Steinberg, Melanie Bierman, Eva Ferreira, Zailey Zub, Layla Palmaz, Tatiana Marin, Maclenzie Nezat, Isa Castano-Diaz, Mia Marshall-Hewitt, Savanna Hurlbert, Ximena Escobedo, Brooke Bunting, Kianna Guzman, Arianna Runyan, Tai Louis and Victoria Sosa.
Next, both teams will face Monarch High School, with the girls starting at 4 p.m. and the boys at 6 p.m.
