Kyle Joseph Hall {BSO}
A Tamarac man was arrested after authorities say he used 911 to make multiple fake emergency calls claiming violent incidents were in progress at the Extended Stay hotel.
According to a Broward County Sheriff’s Office arrest report, Kyle Joseph Hall, 35, was taken into custody on August 6 after deputies linked him to a series of fake emergency calls that spanned several hours and locations.
The incident began when deputies responded to the Extended Stay hotel located at 3873 West Commercial Boulevard after receiving a 911 call from a man claiming he had been robbed at gunpoint by a man and a woman he met online. The caller, later identified as Hall, said he was lured to a hotel room where he was threatened and robbed of $500.
As deputies investigated, they discovered inconsistencies in Hall’s story. He claimed the woman involved had an active warrant and identified her as “Chasity Jones.” After a failed attempt to locate anyone by that name in the hotel, deputies eventually identified another room occupied by a woman matching his description. They soon discovered the story to be fictitious and found no one in danger.
Later that night, Hall placed another 911 call claiming his friend was being held at gunpoint at the same hotel. Deputies returned, cleared the room, and confirmed that no crime was in progress.
The report shows that dispatchers traced the emergency calls to Hall’s residence near the 8200 block of Northwest 74th Avenue. Deputies made contact with Hall, and he admitted to making the calls and told officers he was not at the hotel but had reported the incidents because he felt threatened by people who he claimed had previously threatened to kill him.
Hall was arrested and transported to the Broward County Main Jail and held without bond.
