After a two-month-long investigation, the Broward County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a man on first-degree murder charges in connection to the shooting death of a Lauderhill man.
Shenard Bohler, 22, of Hollywood, was taken into custody on February 24 by BSO deputies for the Christmas Day murder.
According to a warrant issued for Bohler’s arrest, In the early hours of December 25, deputies were alerted to a shooting incident via a ShotSpotter notification in the 2400 block of Northwest 8th Avenue. The report indicated that the ShotSpotter identified eight gunshots being fired.
Upon arrival, officers found a victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds and was transported to Broward Health Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead.
A neighbor with a Ring camera reported to police that a Black male was running toward the front door of a residence and a black car in front. The driver of the vehicle rolled down his window and fired multiple gunshots in the victim’s direction.
An investigation led detectives to identify Bohler as the primary suspect.
Further inquiry into Bohler’s history revealed a disturbing pattern of violence, most notably a September 30 incident in which Bohler had allegedly fired several shots at the victim in a separate incident in Lauderhill, which until now had remained unsolved.
