Thor and Babar
Broward County Animal Care is highlighting two lovable companions as its Pets of the Week: Thor, a gentle American Staffordshire Terrier mix, and Babar, a charming Bengal mix cat.
Thor (A2422945), a 3-year-old, 65-pound terrier mix, was found as a stray in Hallandale Beach and has been melting hearts since arriving at the shelter in May. Known for his sweet demeanor and signature puffy snout,
Thor enjoys soft kisses and keeping his kennel clean — a sign he may be housetrained. Despite experiencing mild seizures, he remains affectionate and calm. Animal Care staff recommend a full veterinary evaluation to determine the cause and provide treatment. Thor is seeking a compassionate adopter who can provide the love and care he deserves.
Babar (A2433664), also 3 years old, is a Bengal mix who was found wandering in Margate earlier this month. With a tall frame and distinctive spotted coat, Babar stands out in any room.
Although his microchip was unregistered, Babar is now fully vetted — neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped — and ready for a new beginning. He’s playful, vocal, and enjoys gentle neck scratches, making him an ideal companion for someone seeking a lively and affectionate feline.
Thor and Babar are available for adoption or foster at Broward County Animal Care, located at 2400 SW 42nd Street in Fort Lauderdale. All adoptions include spay/neuter, vaccinations, and a microchip. Adopters only pay a $25 fee for the Broward County Pet Registration Tag.
