Incidents
Trespassing
A trespassing incident was reported in Tamarac on Aug. 11. According to BSO, a known subject was arrested for trespassing after warning.
Drug Possession
A narcotics offense was reported near 4999 North State Road 7 and West Commercial Boulevard on Aug. 11. Deputies conducted a traffic stop, and a passenger was arrested after allegedly being found in possession of MDMA.
Vehicle Burglary
A vehicle burglary was reported in Tamarac on Aug. 11. Surveillance footage reportedly showed two males opening the victim’s car door before leaving when the home’s porch lights came on. The suspects left in an unknown vehicle.
Property Damage
Property damage was reported on Lagos de Campo Boulevard on Aug. 12. The victim told deputies that the front driver-side window of her vehicle had been broken.
Shoplifting
Marshalls, 4197 West Commercial Boulevard, reported a shoplifting incident on Aug. 12. An unidentified woman allegedly stole approximately $274 worth of merchandise before leaving in a vehicle.
Missing Person
A missing elderly woman was reported on Aug. 12. According to BSO, the woman, who had dementia, was later located at a hospital in Margate.
Criminal Mischief
Rokest Condominium Association, 8390 Lagos de Campo Boulevard, reported criminal mischief on Aug. 13. Deputies said a resident intentionally damaged landscaping and other common-area property belonging to the association. Damage was estimated at more than $1,000.
Fleeing From Deputies
An incident was reported at 7001 West Commercial Boulevard on Aug. 14 after a deputy attempted to stop a vehicle for traffic violations. According to BSO, the driver failed to stop and drove toward oncoming eastbound traffic, forcing motorists to slow down and take evasive action. The driver was later taken into custody.
Vehicle Burglary
A vehicle burglary was reported in Tamarac on Aug. 14, with an estimated loss of $9,041.
Fraud
A Tamarac resident reported fraud on Aug. 14 after an unknown person allegedly used the victim’s personal information to withdraw $700 from a Bank of America checking account and deposit a fraudulent check.
License Plate Theft
A license plate and decal were reported stolen from a red 2024 Chevrolet Traverse while the vehicle was parked overnight at a Tamarac residence. The estimated loss was $250.
Threats
A woman reported receiving threats online on Aug. 14. The incident was reported to deputies at the BSO district office.
Battery
A battery was reported at 4197 West Commercial Boulevard on Aug. 14. According to BSO, a woman reported being struck on the left side of her face during a verbal altercation while traveling to Marshalls. The incident was documented as domestic battery.
Robbery by Sudden Snatching
A robbery was reported at 4999 North State Road 7 on Aug. 15. The victim told deputies an unknown man forcibly pulled on her backpack, breaking its zipper and stealing her wallet before fleeing on foot. The estimated loss was $180. Tamarac Fire Rescue evaluated the victim.
Auto Theft
A 2026 white Acura Integra was reported stolen from the parking lot of Tamarac Village on Aug. 15. The vehicle had reportedly been taken overnight and was entered into law enforcement databases as stolen. The estimated loss was listed as $1,625.
Missing Person
A person with early dementia was reported missing near Hiatus Road and West McNab Road on Aug. 15 after taking a wrong turn while driving home. The person was later located in Deerfield Beach and returned to a caregiver.
Identity Theft
A Tamarac resident reported that an unknown person used the victim’s personal information to open an account. The incident was reported Aug. 12.
A separate identity theft case was reported Aug. 13. The victim told deputies that an unknown person used his personal information to open multiple accounts without permission. He discovered the accounts after checking his credit history.
Arrests
Zina Ailleen Harris, 62, was arrested Aug. 11 on a charge of trespassing in a structure or conveyance.
Daron Sherrod Thompson, 35, was arrested Aug. 11 on a felony petit theft charge involving two or more prior convictions.
Omar Cuesto, 36, was arrested Aug. 11 on a felony charge of possession of a controlled substance without a prescription.
Benny Joseph Scoca, 42, was arrested Aug. 13 on a felony criminal mischief charge involving $1,000 or more in property damage.
Ricardo Alonzo Henry, 29, was arrested Aug. 14 on a felony charge of fleeing or eluding law enforcement in Tamarac. BSO records also list a separate arrest in Weston on a felony charge of possession of cannabis with intent to sell, manufacture or deliver.
Adam Matthew Frankel, 57, was arrested Aug. 14 on a felony kidnapping/false imprisonment charge.
Brian Robert Pierre, 24, was arrested Aug. 14 on a misdemeanor battery charge.
Tyreek Antonio Hall, 29, was arrested Aug. 15 on a misdemeanor disorderly intoxication charge after deputies responded to 5780 Rock Island Road regarding people yelling in a parking lot.
