Incidents
Battery (Domestic / Non-Domestic)
A woman reported being struck in the face by a friend during an argument. She declined to press charges and signed a waiver of prosecution.
A man reported being punched multiple times in the face by his ex-girlfriend during a child custody exchange in a CVS parking lot on North University Drive, suffering a minor lip injury.
A pregnant woman reported being physically assaulted by her intoxicated husband during a domestic dispute. Officers observed signs of a struggle.
A woman reported her child’s father struck her twice in the face with a closed fist during an argument. The suspect fled on foot.
A woman later reported that her husband pushed her while she was nine months pregnant during an incident that occurred in October.
Criminal Mischief
A woman damaged two vehicles—a Chevrolet Spark and a Dodge Ram—during a verbal dispute with her ex-boyfriend. Estimated damage was $700. The vehicle owners declined prosecution.
Theft / Fraud
A man reported that he had misplaced his wallet near a discount store. One of his credit cards was later fraudulently used at a gas station. The estimated loss was $46.
Threats / Intimidation
A 78-year-old woman became frustrated while waiting for medication at a pharmacy and made a verbal threat. Crisis services responded and determined she did not meet Baker Act criteria.
At a fast-food restaurant on North University Drive, a customer allegedly threatened to shoot an employee after becoming upset during an interaction. A case card was issued.
Drugs / Firearm Offense
During a traffic stop at Nob Hill Road and State Street, a driver was arrested for narcotics violations and illegal possession of a firearm.
Violation of Court Order
A man was arrested after violating a domestic violence injunction by appearing at a residence where he was prohibited.
Missing Person
Deputies documented a habitual runaway after several unsuccessful attempts to locate the juvenile, who was entered as missing.
Death Investigation
A man was found unresponsive in bed and pronounced dead by Tamarac Fire Rescue. No signs of foul play were observed. The Medical Examiner assumed the investigation.
Domestic Disturbances (Non-Criminal)
Multiple verbal domestic disputes were reported throughout the week involving spouses, siblings, parents and children, and extended family members. In all cases, no physical violence was reported, and no arrests were made. One incident involved a dispute occurring in front of a child, prompting notification to the Department of Children and Families.
Baker Act / Mental Health Incidents
Several individuals were taken into custody under the Baker Act after exhibiting suicidal ideations, hallucinations, or paranoia. All were transported to behavioral health facilities for evaluation.
Arrests
Amari Jaquan Brown, 20, was arrested on charges of possession of cannabis over 20 grams.
Jefrid Pierre, 34, was arrested on a charge of aggravated battery causing bodily harm in a domestic incident.
Yahaira Lydia Melendez, 28, was arrested on a charge of cruelty toward a child without great bodily harm.
Rhyheim Shadrach Woodard, 26, was arrested on an active warrant for petit theft.
Leo Pierre-Jerome, 38, was arrested for violating a domestic violence injunction.
Luis Antonio Paz, 49, was arrested on a charge of aggravated battery after deputies said he knew or should have known the victim was pregnant.
Naomi Lynn Durham, 60, was arrested on a charge of burglary of an occupied dwelling without a weapon.
