Crime Update

The Broward County Sheriff’s Office in Tamarac responded to various incidents through December 23, 2024. Below is a detailed account of the incidents and arrests handled by local law enforcement during this period.

December 17, 2024

Suspicious Incident: At 7001 N University Dr., An altercation occurred near a drive-thru ATM, with blood found nearby but no parties located.

Burglary: Extended Stay America, 3873 W Commercial Blvd. An unknown male entered a hotel room without payment.

Fraud: $3,826 loss reported from an incident between October 16, 2023, and December 17, 2024.

Theft: Amazon Warehouse, 10681 W McNab Rd. Items worth $2,096 stolen from an unsecured door.

Fraud: Pro-thotics Technology reported a $1,500,000 loss from theft between January 2021 and December 17, 2024.

December 18, 2024

Trespassing: At 7050 N University, Dr. One was made for trespassing after a warning.

Burglary Conveyance: Two incidents reported. Locations include Fairfax Dr and NW 94th Ave. Losses reported at $150 and miscellaneous items.

December 19, 2024

Retail Theft: At Marshalls, 4197 W Commercial Blvd. Items valued at $245 were recovered after theft.

Baker Act: A juvenile transported for mental health evaluation.

Death Investigation: Two cases involving natural causes were reported. No foul play suspected.

December 20, 2024

Vehicle Part Theft: A catalytic converter was stolen from a vehicle. Loss estimated at $200.

Child Welfare: Fire Rescue broke a vehicle window to free a child accidentally locked inside.

December 21, 2024

Fraud: A victim reported a $1,120 loss after sending money to an unknown individual.

Burglary Conveyance: Unlocked vehicle accessed; a purse and credit cards were stolen.

December 22, 2024

Fraud: The victim reported a debit card switch scam, resulting in $1,000 in losses.

Baker Act: An adult female experiencing postpartum depression was transported for care.

Arrests

December 18, 2024: Brian Vargas was arrested for DUI, causing serious bodily injury. Bobby Henderson was arrested for trespassing.

December 19, 2024: Jeffrey Pierre was arrested for battery in a dating violence case.

December 22, 2024: Vonshawn Parker was arrested for trespassing on non-structure property.
