Crime Update

The Broward County Sheriff’s Office in Tamarac responded to various incidents through January 20, 2025. Below is a detailed account of the incidents and arrests handled by local law enforcement during this period.

Property Crimes

Lost Property: A woman reported lost documents between October 30–31, 2024. (Reported: January 14, 2025)

Theft – Retail/Shoplifting:

Alcohol worth $60 was stolen from 7-11 at 3101 W Commercial Blvd on January 15.

Four suspects were arrested for organized retail theft at Walmart, stealing $508 on January 16.

CVS reported two women shoplifting $91 worth of merchandise on January 18.

Delayed shoplifting was reported at Neighborhood Walmart with a loss of $99 on January 19.

Burglary Conveyance: A work tablet was stolen from a van outside Winn Dixie on January 17; estimated loss: $300.

Theft – All Other:

Packages and jewelry were stolen, totaling $2,701.

Gold necklace theft linked to a property restoration worker on January 17.

Violent and Person Crimes

Robbery:

Strong-arm robbery on January 16, with $50 taken.

Bottle of liquor stolen in an assault on January 18.

Aggravated Battery: A victim was stabbed on January 17. The suspect was apprehended.

Miscellaneous

Animal Bite: A dog bite incident was reported on January 14 involving a flower delivery.

Criminal Mischief: Damage to a television and power cables.

Auto Theft: One vehicle was reported stolen and later self-recovered.

Arrests

January 16:

Scott Evans was arrested for a felony warrant (Battery on LEO).

Allen Linkhorn was charged with possession of cocaine.

Two suspects were arrested for petty theft at Walmart.

January 17: Malleiko Vallintine was charged with second-degree murder.

January 18: Archie Wellington was charged with aggravated assault using a deadly weapon in a domestic incident.

January 20: Charles Johnson was arrested for burglary of an unoccupied dwelling.

Notable Information

Baker Act: A juvenile was transported for evaluation on January 14.

Death Investigation: Roommate reported a death on January 18.

Property Damage: Stop sign vandalism on January 18.

Accidental Fire: Caused by a juvenile on January 20.
