The Broward County Sheriff’s Office in Tamarac responded to various incidents through July 14, 2025. Below is a detailed account of the incidents and arrests handled by local law enforcement during this period.
Battery
A physical altercation resulted in two individuals taken into custody for simple battery on July 8.
A patient assaulted two nurses on July 10 and was arrested and transported to jail.
A domestic dispute turned physical on July 9; one person was arrested.
Additional battery arrests occurred on July 11 and 12 in unrelated incidents.
Fraud
A cleaning company employee was caught cashing fraudulent checks in their name. Reported July 8.
A local medical office reported $24,144 in fraudulent charges on their AT&T bill. Reported July 9.
A woman was arrested July 9 for fraudulent impersonation involving five or more identities.
Theft and Burglary
A woman reported her recycling bin stolen between July 3–4. Loss: $95.
A garbage can was reported stolen sometime between July 6–9. Loss: $35.
Two vehicle burglaries were reported—one on July 11 with a $125 loss, and another where the victims were unsure if items were lost or stolen.
Two separate auto thefts were reported on July 10 and 11.
Robbery
A robbery occurred during a Facebook Marketplace transaction on July 11. Estimated loss: $1,300.
A man was arrested on July 10 for robbery by sudden snatching without a weapon.
Criminal Mischief & Property Damage
Damage was reported to a front door and a vehicle on July 9.
A mailbox was damaged by unknown means on July 8.
Threats and Intimidation
A man reported receiving text messages threatening to shoot him. An RPO was completed.
Another incident involving harassment was reported July 11.
Suspicious Incidents & Information Reports
Multiple information reports included a person with homicidal thoughts, iguana shootings with an air rifle, a dog attack, a naked man seen in a park, and a suspicious incident that resembled a kidnapping but was actually someone helping a drunk friend.
Additional reports documented a leaky roof, a custody dispute, found shell casings, and an elderly woman attacking her aide during a mental health crisis.
Domestic Disturbances (Non-Crime)
At least seven domestic incidents were reported involving disputes between family members, couples, and cohabitants. These incidents were verbal or non-criminal in nature.
Other Notable Incidents
Two Baker Act cases involved mental health crises requiring hospitalization.
A violation of a court order was reported after a subject removed an ankle monitor.
One death investigation was conducted on July 11 and determined to be due to natural causes.
An officer was exposed to fentanyl while assisting another agency.
Arrests
Maurice Wilson, 33, was arrested for battery on July 8.
Colin James Chen, 33, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance without a prescription on July 8.
Jeremiah Isaiah Moses Stevens, 23, and Rosalinda Janniere, 21, were arrested on July 9 for grand theft auto and fraud respectively.
Talesha Shadaryl Jake Brown, 25, was arrested for failure to register a vehicle on July 9.
Vernante Desinor, 40, was arrested for domestic battery on July 9.
Robert Paul Huffman, 33, was arrested for robbery by sudden snatching on July 10.
Shawn Allan Tazelaar, 45, was arrested for battery on emergency personnel on July 10.
Gregory Wright, 53, was arrested on a warrant on July 10.
Antwon Dinnell Waters, 29, and Tina Cherie Philpart, 53, were arrested for battery on July 11.
Jimmy Alonso, 54, was arrested for driving with a suspended license (second offense) on July 12.
Rachel Michelle Reyes, 34, and Andris Pouchon Vital, 29, were both arrested for domestic battery on July 12.
