The Tamarac, North Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce Foundation and Heart Sisters announce a new community project, offering volunteer hours for local students to participate in community gardening initiatives.
The project, which kicks off at the Moose Lodge in Tamarac, aims to provide students with a unique opportunity to learn from Master Gardener Hyvelle Ferguson-Davis and gain valuable life skills.
The community garden project is designed to promote sustainability, teamwork, and community engagement. Students will have the chance to work alongside Master Gardener Hyvelle Ferguson-Davis, who will share her expertise and knowledge on gardening and sustainability. The sessions will not only provide students with hands-on gardening experience but also offer a platform for team building and socialization.
“We are thrilled to launch this community project, which builds upon the success of our student sustainability seminar,” said Peter Mason, Executive Director of the Tamarac, North Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce Foundation. “Our goal is to create a welcoming environment for local students to learn from incredible individuals like Master Gardener Hyvelle Ferguson-Davis and give back to their community.”
The community garden project is open to all local students 14 and above, and sessions will be held at the Moose Lodge in Tamarac. The project is a collaborative effort between the Tamarac North Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce Foundation and Heart Sisters to promote community engagement, sustainability, and education.
“We believe that this project will not only benefit the students but also the community as a whole,” said Hyvelle Ferguson Davis, representative of Heart Sisters. “By working together, we can create a positive impact and make a difference in the lives of those around us.”
