Tamarac Crime Update: Man Steals Ambulance With Worker Still Inside.

Through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates with the residents, this is a summary of Tamarac crime events through June 5.

Information

Information on Westwood Drive found a male who was struck by lightning and was transported to Broward Health North. He is currently in stable condition. 

Robbery

A victim of Robbery on N Pine Island Road was reported on: 05/30/2023. The total estimated loss was: $1,000. The victim advised that an unknown suspect entered the gas station and robbed her.

Fire

A victim of Fire on N Pine Island Road/W McNab Road was reported on:  06/01/2023. A known homeless male had a tent and personal items in a remote location in some bushes. The male said he woke up from sleeping for six hours and found his tent on fire. He said he does smoke but did not think he fell asleep while smoking. He also had a cell phone in the tent. He said no one else lives with him or knows he is in that location. Fire rescue advised him cigarettes could smolder for hours before a fire starts.

Kidnapping/ False Imprisonment

A victim of Kidnapping/ False Imprisonment on N University Drive was reported on: 06/02/2023. The offender stole an NHT private ambulance while a worker was inside. The offender later let the worker out of the ambulance on N University and W McNab Road. The offender fled the area and crashed in the city of Sunrise.

Auto Theft

A victim of Auto Theft on Sands Point Blvd was reported on: 06/02/2023. The total estimated loss was: $401.

Theft – Motor Vehicle Parts

A victim of Theft – Motor Vehicle Parts was reported on: 06/03/2023. The total estimated loss was: $2,500. An unknown suspect stole the victim’s four tires and four rims from his 2022 Silver Toyota Corolla.

A victim of Theft – Motor Vehicle Parts NW 61 Street was reported on:  06/03/2023. The total estimated loss was: $2,800. The gray 2022 Nissan Rogue rims and tires were stolen.

A victim of Theft – Motor Vehicle Parts on E Sabal Palm Blvd was reported on: 06/01/2023. The total estimated loss was: $1,250. The owner of a Red white Toyota Corolla reported his vehicle was left standing on bricks after all four rims and tires were stolen. 

Theft – Retail / Shoplifting

A victim of Theft – Retail / Shoplifting on N Pine Island Road was reported on: 06/04/2023. The total estimated loss was: $737. A male subject entered the store, filled a shopping cart full of items, and passed all points of sale for a total loss of $744.33.

Burglary Residence

A victim of Burglary Residence on Rock Island Road was reported on: 06/05/2023. The total estimated loss was: $1,170.

Burglary Conveyance

A victim of Burglary Conveyance on NW 76 Place was reported on: 06/01/2023. The total estimated loss was: $1,225. 

A victim of Burglary Conveyance on Pine Island Road was reported on: 06/01/2023. The total estimated loss was: $790.

A victim of Burglary Conveyance on NW 67 Avenue was reported on: 05/30/2023. The caller watched as the suspect entered his neighbor’s vehicle. The caller followed the suspect until officers arrived and took the offender into custody. An area canvas of the neighborhood by police produced a total of three vehicles that had been burglarized by the offender.

Arrests

Snow, Sierra, Leone, Emier, 23, was arrested on a Touch Or Strike/Battery/Domestic Violence charge on NW 69 Avenue on 05/30/2023.

Fitzgerald, Bryce, Nathan, 19, was arrested on a charge of Burglary -Dwelling Occupied/Unarmed/No Assault Battery on NW 73rd Terrace on 05/30/2023.

Fitzgerald, Bryce, Nathan, 19, was arrested on a Vehicle Theft -Grand Theft Of Motor Vehicle charge on Southgate Blvd on 05/30/2023.

Elvin

Gascot, Robert, Charlyn, 42, was arrested on a charge of Warrant – Felony Battery Domestic Strangulation on Treehouse Lane on 05/31/2023.

Mcgriff, Ciara La’trail, 34, was arrested on a charge of Crash Leave Scene W/O Giving Information Specify Damage on McNab Road on 06/02/2023.

Andrade, Priscilla, Norma, 33, was arrested on a charge of Burglary -Dwelling Occupied/Unarmed/No Assault Battery on NW 72nd Avenue on 06/04/2023.

Robinson, Naaron, 18, was arrested on a charge of Aggravated Assault W/ Deadly Weapon ­ Domestic Violence on NW 61 Street on 06/05/2023.
