Tamarac Man Arrested After Tip Leads to Investigators Finding Child Pornography in Google Drive 4

A Tamarac man was arrested Wednesday after investigators said he uploaded and stored multiple child pornography files in his Google Drive account.

According to an arrest report, Amir Hekmatian, 45, of Tamarac, was arrested on November 12 and charged with possession of child pornography. He was reportedly taken into custody by the deputies from the Broward Sheriff’s Office following a search warrant executed at his home.

Detectives said the case began in September when the South Florida Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force received a cybertip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. Google had reported that one of its subscribers uploaded eight files containing child sexual abuse material to a cloud drive. Investigators identified the account holder as Hekmatian.

A forensic review of the account revealed four original files uploaded on September 6 and four duplicates, according to the report. Detectives said the material appeared to have been sourced from Telegram.

Two of the files were described as videos showing a girl who appeared to be younger than six being molested.

Another file appeared to advertise the sale or distribution of additional child pornography and included a message reading, “Download 779 child porn movies + telegram group access,” investigators said.

Detectives also reviewed Hekmatian’s Google search history, which they said showed numerous keyword searches related to child sexual abuse, including “7 year old very horny,” “yoing (sic) Russian porn,” and “9 year old girl in underwear.”

Hekmatian remains held at the Broward County Main Jail. His bond has been set at $25,000.
