Tamarac Crime Update: Shooting and Burglary

Through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates to residents, this is a summary of Tamarac crime and arrests through October 25, 2021.

Auto Theft 

Madison Ave.

A person was the victim of Auto Theft on 10/18/2021. Unknown suspect(s) stole a 2013 white Honda Fit Sport from the parking lot. Auto Theft Affidavit was completed.

Retro Fitness Tamarac

W. Commercial Blvd.

A person was the victim of Auto Theft on 10/21/2021. The victim walked away and left the vehicle running with the key in the vehicle. An unknown male entered and stole the vehicle, heading northbound on N State Road 7. Tot. Est. Loss: $2,250.

Burglary Residence

NW 77th Ct.

A person was the victim of Burglary Residence on 10/19/2021. Tot. Est. Loss: $41,300.

Fraud

NW 96th Terrace

A person was the victim of Fraud on 10/19/2021. Tot. Est. Loss: $225.

Information

NW 100th Way

On 10/20/2021, deputies responded about a verbal dispute. It was an ongoing issue between homeowner and HOA president.

NW 94th Ave.

On 10/21/2021, deputies were dispatched to a “fight” in progress. Further investigation revealed that the alleged victim advised he and the suspect fight for fun.

Retail Theft

W. Commercial Blvd

A store was the victim of Retail Theft on 10/21/2021. While deputies were on the scene, the suspect returned to the store. The suspect was detained and advised he would pay for stolen items. The manager signed the BSO Waiver of Prosecution and allowed the suspect to pay for items. The suspect was given a trespass warning. Tot. Est. Loss: $49.

Shooting

NW 80th Ave.

Society was the victim of a Shooting/Unlawful Discharge on 10/22/2021. The shooting happened in the parking lot, and three silver .40 caliber shell casings were found.

Weapons Violations

W. University Drive

A medical facility was the victim of Weapons Violations on 10/19/2021. The subject brought a firearm into the facility. At no time did he let security or staff know he had a firearm on him. Staff in the psych unit found the firearm when they were going through his property.

Arrests

Cruz, Annette Jimenez, 60, was arrested on charges of Grand Theft on 10/20/2021.

Rodrigues, Angela Jenkins, 44, was arrested on charges of Burglary Structure Unoccup on  N University Dr on 10/20/2021.

Rosales, Alfredo, 27, was arrested on charges of Trespassing-occupied Structure Or Conveyance on W Commercial Blvd on 10/20/2021.

Alexander, Rajiar Brandon Maurice, 20, was arrested on charges of Warrant Trespass on Prestige Commons Dr on 10/20/2021.

Lawson, Jimmy Lee, 49, was arrested on Dui Alcohol Or Drugs charges on Lagos De Campo Blvd on 10/24/2021.
