Tamarac Crime Update: Shooting and Robbery

Through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates with residents, this is a summary of Tamarac crime and arrests through June 6, 2022.

Auto Theft

NW 70th Ave.

On 06/05/2022, Miami-Dade Police located a 2020 Infiniti QX60 stolen from a Tamarac resident and abandoned in Miami.

Burglary Conveyance

Rock Island Rd.

On 06/06/2022, unknown person(s) smashed out the passenger front windows of two vehicles at the Sun Vista Apartments. No items were stolen.

Rock Island Rd.

On 06/06/2022, a 27-year old female advised her car was burglarized while she was at home. Tot. Est. Loss: $41. 


NW 96th Ter.

On 06/05/2022, a 19-year-old male told deputies a known subject discharged a firearm at the Coral Vista Apartments. A cavass of the area was conducted and no shell casings found.



Seagrape Cir.

On 05/31/2022, a 36-year-old male was the victim of loitering/prowling. Deputies responded to a call for service involving a possibly armed person wearing a hood and mask on the victim’s property. The victim chased the gunman away and BSO K9 units later captured him nearby.


A 50-year-old male was the victim of robbery on 06/05/2022. The victim was robbed of $300 in the drive thru ATM at a bank.

W. Commercial Blvd.


NW 78th St.

On 06/01/2022, a  29-year-old male was involved in a shooting/unlawful discharge of weapon. A man entered the victim’s residence and asked to talk to him outside. There, the man punched him in his face and pulled a knife on him. In response, the victim grabbed his gun and shot at the man to protect himself and his family.


Foster, Andrew Constantine, 31, was arrested on charges of firing a weapon in public on NW 78th St. on 06/01/2022.

David Mohabir

King, Willie Charlie James, 32, was arrested on charges of trespassing on W. Commercial Blvd. on 06/03/2022.

Stewart, David Tesfa, 30, was arrested on charges of battery/domestic violence on NW 96th Ter. on 06/03/2022.

Arias,  Christopher Ivan, 27, was arrested on charges of battery/domestic violence on N. Colony Cir. on 06/05/2022
