Eligible neighborhood associations in Tamarac can soon apply for city funding to support community improvement projects.
The City of Tamarac’s Neighborhood Partnership Program will accept applications online from Monday, Aug. 31, through Monday, Sept. 14.
The program provides funding opportunities for projects such as upgraded neighborhood or subdivision signs, median and neighborhood landscaping, low-water-use landscaping, hedge replacement and the removal of nuisance plant species.
Other eligible improvements include street tree planting in public rights-of-way, enhanced lighting, small outdoor fitness structures, exercise stations, and tree trimming, pruning, or removal as part of a landscaping project.
To qualify, the property must be located within Tamarac. Applicants must be active neighborhood associations, organizations or homeowners associations registered with the city.
Associations must also have elected officers, including a president, treasurer and secretary, and provide minutes from the meeting at which the officers were elected. Applicants must be Florida not-for-profit corporations in good standing to be considered for city funding.
Applications will be available and accepted online only at Tamarac.gov/NeighborhoodPartnershipProgram.
