A Tamarac man accused of beating a pregnant woman and kicking a 1-year-old during an attack at a hotel has been taken into custody.

Broward County Sheriff’s Office records show Fritz Junior Finisse, 22, was wanted on charges of aggravated battery on a pregnant woman and child abuse without great bodily harm stemming from an alleged September 5 attack at the WoodSpring Suites, 5751 Madison Avenue.

According to the arrest affidavit, deputies were called to the hotel after a reported domestic battery. Investigators said Finisse and the woman had been living together at the hotel and that the woman was 12 weeks pregnant with Finisse’s child, and investigators said he knew about the pregnancy.

Investigators said the confrontation began after the woman told Finisse she needed to go to work and wanted him to watch their 1-year-old child.

The argument allegedly escalated into violence, with Finisse punching the woman with a closed fist more than 10 times. Authorities documented two broken fingernails, swelling on the left side of her neck, redness on her back, an abrasion on her forehead, bruising to both cheeks, and a small laceration on her arm.

The affidavit alleges the woman was holding their 1-year-old child while Finisse was striking her. During the attack, investigators said Finisse kicked the child in the forehead, causing a contusion.

Both were taken to a hospital, and the child underwent a CT scan, according to the affidavit.

Investigators said the violence continued even after the woman managed to get out of the hotel room.

According to the affidavit, Finisse followed her into the hallway and threw another five punches, four of which allegedly struck her in the head. That portion of the incident was captured by the hotel’s security cameras, deputies said.

The woman then sought help from another hotel guest before running to a friend’s room. Investigators allege Finisse followed her inside and continued punching her in the face.

A Broward County judge subsequently issued an arrest warrant. Finisse was originally taken into custody on the same day of the assault, but was released after posting a $25,000 bond. Since that time, multiple additional warrants had been issued for his arrest, and on August 28 he was once again taken into custody.
